    New Streetcars

speaking of streetcars, how long have they had the new automated stop announcements and that electronic stop display marquee board on ttc streetcars? i was on a queen st streetcar tonight and they had stop announcements like the subways "Next Stop, University Ave. Osgoode Subway Station" and the...

    York Street Pedestrian Promenade Plan

interesting. good to know they're making it more pedestrian friendly... especially with the lakeshore/york intersection design. those islands are scary and cars go crazy around that turn. this is one of the most important streets for downtown-waterfront connection... beautifying and...

    Toronto U of T: Jackman Law Building Expansion | ?m | 3s | U of T | Hariri Pontarini

S+P is the only good one. the other two are very unthoughtful imo. i feel a bit nimbyish with this expansion... philosopher's walk is one of my favorite places in the city and i love it dearly as a former trinity college student/resident. it's so nice there, i wish the law school wouldn't...

Roads: Keep the Gardiner, fix it, or get rid of it? (2005-2014)

they really need to just slow down lakeshore with some rightious red lights and perhaps even narrowing. it's such a nightmare to cross it simply cuz it's like crossing a highway... doesn't feel like a city street downtown. they already have gardiner to cross east-west so fast, i suppose they...

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

looks like a lot more seats on that model than what we currently have.. that "backroom" looks like it's 4-seat-per-row all the way through!

    Transformation AGO (5s, Gehry) COMPLETE

    Toronto Aura at College Park | 271.87m | 78s | Canderel | Graziani + Corazza

the base looks so much better.. and 4 levels of retail, that sounds like quite a lot. it'd be cool to have a mini-shopping-center there... a good stop point between dundas and bloor.

    Toronto Union Station Revitalization | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto | NORR

the slides are on the website at http://www.toronto.ca/union_station/revitalization.htm . The last slide is pretty interesting with the side shot. overall i think the plan is great... it definitely makes the station less confusing in my opinion. and really, a state of good repair is what we...

    Best street to make over.

i nominate Queens Quay between Yonge and Parliament. Was reminiscing when I visited Singapore and I remember this district called Clarke Quay. it was so lively and so fun there... i think queens quay can turn into something like that.

Post: First Act: Completed (Four Seasons Centre)

unfortunately, most of my friends either think the building is incredibly ugly or they didn't know it's new. and i think its exterior is horrible too.

The Tenor (10 Dundas St E, Ent Prop Trust, 10s, Baldwin & Franklin)

Toronto doesn't use quality materials most of the time yes, but Toronto definitely doesn't use quality design. It's not an 'industrial look' they were going for anyway... it just turned out so fugly and now we say it's industrial.
