    Toronto No7 Rosedale | 16.76m | 4s | Platinum Vista | Hariri Pontarini

What good does preserving this structure do if it is obscured by anachronistic landscaping, and is not open to the public? I bet the interiors have been adulterated to shit, too. 26 new units in the core of the city would do Toronto a lot more good than preserving this house. "A meaningful...

    Toronto QueenChurch | 185.9m | 57s | Tridel | Kirkor

"All the same height" looks nice if it's midrise, not if it's 160m. That's the difference between St. Lawrence/Old Toronto and the Entertainment District.

    Premier Doug Ford's Ontario

Ruinous? Holy hyperbole, Batman. Yes, some people had to pay a lot more for their hydro (all of our bills have gone up, and not everyone feels personally victimized, just saying). That may have seemed ruinous... and you know what, those people are justified in voting PC or ONDP. I can't think of...

    OMB Reform

But that's because everything that was in the pipeline was rushed to get in before the new system, so we'll probably see lower numbers for the next six months or so. Things that normally would have taken a few months longer were submitted early. This doesn't reflect the efficacy of the new system.

Toronto Municipal Election 2018: Mayor’s Race

Based on Layton's and KWT's comments in that article, it seems to me that something is brewing among the lefties. I would expect them to get behind a left wing challenger to Tory... particularly if Mammo splits the right-wing vote...

    Toronto 540 King West | 50.66m | 15s | Allied | Hariri Pontarini

Not the biggest fan of this project as it stands. The heritage building is handsome and is definitely worth saving. The north-south expanse connecting the two primary parcels is long and awkward. It risks visually overwhelming the block, creating a massive wall of window and balcony. The design...

Toronto King Portland Centre and Kingly Condos | 57.6m | 15s | Allied | Hariri Pontarini

I cringe thinking about the inevitable howling that would come from the inner suburbs if only Downtown was to get buried power lines

And in Toronto it's estimated at $15 billion to bury them. I pull that stat out whenever someone complains about the power lines, and that usually shuts them up. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/ice-storm-fallout-can-t-power-lines-go-underground-1.2490392

    2018 Ontario Provincial Election Discussion

Well, I'm not a politician, thank god, so I don't have to pander to anyone's concerns. I'm dismayed that political discourse in this province (and really the world at large) has deteriorated to the point where we must address imaginary slights and contempt that are projected by the insecure onto...

    2018 Ontario Provincial Election Discussion

LOL.... "contempt"?! A majority of their caucus and ministers are from the 905. They define their policy. The "contempt" is imaginary.

    2018 Ontario PC Leadership Race

This is shaping up to be the most exciting provincial election, ever. For better or for worse.

    2018 Ontario PC Leadership Race

Unfortunately "Anyone-but-Ford-or-Wynne" is not an option. A vote for the ONDP in a Liberal held riding is a vote for Ford.

2018 Municipal Election: Toronto Council Races

This is getting my hopes up about a certain former civil servant running for municipal office...

2018 Municipal Election: Toronto Council Races

Is that a sure thing? I hadn't heard any "reliable" rumours.

Is David Miller planning a comeback?

But now he's the North America director for C40 Cities. Doesn't seem like he left to initiate a mayoral bid.

Perfect scale and materiality for the neighbourhood.

Fingers crossed that the glazing turns out more smokey-hued (like the renders) rather than bluegreygreen.

    Premier Doug Ford's Ontario

Deliberately using Trumpisms  .... I don't think this is going to get him very far outside of the inner suburbs of the 416.

Toronto Regent Park: Daniels Artworks Tower | 105.76m | 33s | Daniels | BDP Quadrangle

Certainly not bad by any means. Daniels is doing a great job. I'm just glad to see some of that colour go skyward (not counting the white towers at 1PP, which are wonderful but not particularly colourful).
