I'll miss it personally. Historical ties to the city's industrial past are important to honor. It makes for a more interesting and varied built form. It's a shame it's being pulled down. I often find myself wishing this city had a more daring imagination, one that encompasses both an authentic...

    Mississauga The Southlands | ?m | 72s | Camrost-Felcorp | a—A

This trio of towers as rendered is dystopian and overbearing. Must be the cluster effect. Just feels brutal.

You mean community grub, I expect!

Would have been nice, I agree. Alas.

    Markham UnionCity South | 159.55m | 49s | Metropia | Arcadis

Central building has that outlandish top, feels very silly and twee. On the other hand, I quite like the thin slab massing and lines of the far left tower.

Gotta say I love the addition of the TSA as well. Used to do life-drawing at one of the school's former locations on Wellington in the 90s and early aughts before our group splintered off and found new regular digs.

Ugh. This guy's chronic cronyism is revolting. Barely hiding it under a shabby veneer of folksy inclusiveness only makes it more abhorrent.

    Toronto 307 Lake Shore East | 160.18m | 49s | Resident | BDP Quadrangle

    Dead sexy in those renders.

Stackt Container Market (28 Bathurst St, future park)

Agreed. A shame a good local microbrewery wasn't chosen. A shame the containers weren't painted in a swath of bold colours.

Stackt Container Market (28 Bathurst St, future park)

Yup, that's one complaint. Too dire and sterile, to begin with. Kind of like a big corporation's idea of "fun." But then again, very little of it feels like it was well thought out. I remain uninspired after two separate visits.

    Toronto 510 Yonge | 196.9m | 59s | KingSett Capital | BDP Quadrangle

That slick warm brick shooting to the very top gives this proposal a sleek confidence.

It's a summer thing, is it not? In Leslieville, every time there's a concert in Woodbine Park we get the echoing reverberations from it and we're several blocks away from the stages. I look at it as a facet of urban living. It annoys me once in a while but for the most part I'm OK with it. And...

    From yesterday afternoon.

    Toronto Loft 45 Condos | ?m | 4s | Berkshire Axis | BDP Quadrangle

    I agree, it's pretty stark, isn't it.

    Toronto 656 Danforth Avenue | 160.73m | 49s | Del Boca Vista | Studio JCI

For some folks, it's simply easier to make the city of Toronto the big bad Boogeyman and leave it at that.

    Toronto 1291 Gerrard East | 29.27m | 9s | Percy Ellis | Gabriel Fain Architects

Wow. That will be welcome indeed. A little bit of good streetwall action for a decrepit stretch of Gerrard.

    Toronto Concord Canada House | 231.97m | 74s | Concord Adex | Arcadis

In my view, if a building is horrific, giving it more height just makes it more horrific.

    Toronto Concord Canada House | 231.97m | 74s | Concord Adex | Arcadis

It's a bland, anonymous-looking building. Fits in nicely, considering how monotonous most of our residential towers downtown are.

    Toronto Toronto House | 186.53m | 58s | Allied | Hariri Pontarini

Very sleek, elegant appearance. Definitely one of my favorites in recent years.
