    Toronto Aura at College Park | 271.87m | 78s | Canderel | Graziani + Corazza

you're right that was stupid of me, I realized you can block people's posts (like Adma and SP!RE) so I came back. you basically run UT so I will never block you, you can call me an a hole or question my intelligence as much as you want. just keep the amazing photos coming!

    Toronto Aura at College Park | 271.87m | 78s | Canderel | Graziani + Corazza

lol what's your problem, I read the article, you obviously didn't, it says "78 storeys offers outdoor spaces and terraces up to and inclusive of the 56th floor . After this floor, there is no outdoor space due to the extreme height of the condos". considering everyone thinks the current floor is...

oh, darn it's really hard to pin down the height when they make so many height changes and uneven floor heights.

    Toronto Aura at College Park | 271.87m | 78s | Canderel | Graziani + Corazza

you're right, aura is now about 56 floors tall according to this: http://yongeandgerrardcondos.blogspot.ca/2012/09/terraces-and-balconies-on-aura-at.html , which would mean 22 floors plus a pretty high, maybe 6 story mechanical. I was basing my guess off the render on skyscraperpage.com which...

    Toronto Aura at College Park | 271.87m | 78s | Canderel | Graziani + Corazza

I noticed walking by today that the glass on the middle section that some of us thought would be the glass used on the curve is actually less reflective. It looked like the glass changes from duller to more reflective on the floor where the curve starts. also since it is 10 floors since the...

    Toronto Aura at College Park | 271.87m | 78s | Canderel | Graziani + Corazza

I personally think this building is going to look good, with the exception of the direct west and east views which are pure spandrel crap. The best view of aura imo will be from the south.

the tall tower will make NYCC look like an actual city centre now. Once towers hit 120-130m they tend to be spottable from LONG distances no matter how hilly the surrounding terrain is.

It would be cool if this site had interactive embedded polls in the homepage. I would be interested to see what the actual spread of opinions is for this building (at least among ut users). I am starting to think this building is the new "trump" in that a majority of people seem to not like it.

Has anyone noticed that aura actually looks worse when in the light (for example when viewed from the west)? In those circumstances it's just a mess of spandrel and the curve glass colour does not go well with the bottom part's colour. I think that is one of the definitions of ugly (looks good...

    Are hospitals the new freeways?

I work in mt. sinai, the ugliest building of them all lol. But at least U of T, Queens Park and the hospitals are close together so the whole deadzone can kind of merge and contain itself. for researchers it is very convenient to have them all close together (gov. buildings, hospitals, and...

    Toronto skyline

^ Interesting how you can see the lake in that pic above, with the way the southcore is being developed (non grid, random arrangements of double towers, not to mention the wall of condos that already exists at the harbourfron) these east west corridors may be the only glimpses of blue water left...

Toronto St Regis Toronto Hotel and Residences | 281.93m | 58s | JFC Capital | Zeidler

did anyone notice there was something on top of the building this morning? I couldn't tell what it was from far away but it was right on top of the grey mechanical box floor. kind of like the toupee that sits on the Donald's blockhead. Window washing equipment maybe, or could it possibly be...

    Toronto Area Trails

If anyone's looking for a great bike trail route in the east end, there's one that enters taylor creek at Vic Park across from Dentonia golf course, goes through taylor creek to the don valley, down the don valley alongside the river, and ends at lakeshore (which can be be extended to the...

    Toronto Aura at College Park | 271.87m | 78s | Canderel | Graziani + Corazza

judging from the skyscraperpage.com model which I assume is accurate, aura is now about 165-170 metres tall. as a reference rocp N is 154m. to anyone who assumed I judged the curve cladding based on a grainy picture, I actually went outside and looked at it with my own two eyes. I thought I saw...
