Road Safety & Vision Zero Plan

Is this the accident? Hard to believe that after something like this and the van attack in 2018 there's still no protective barriers there

    Hamilton Hamilton Line B LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

City ended up settling out of court for $36.7 million, could've bought a bunch more LRT vehicles for that

Road Safety & Vision Zero Plan

I've always wondered about these fences, I've almost never seen them go between the roadway and the sidewalk, it's usually past the sidewalk. I assume they're there to stop cars from flying down into the ravine, but is there a reason that they don't go along the road so that they can protect...

    Toronto 1881 Steeles Avenue West | 104.7m | 32s | First Capital | Turner Fleischer

Nice to see this area densifying. Traffic here though is going to be something else.

    Toronto 6150 Yonge | 51.95m | 13s | Sorbara | BDP Quadrangle

What are the chances that this gets approved before there's a subway or at least a BRT here?

Miscellany Toronto Photographs: Then and Now

What a shame such a grand building was torn down. That whole intersection used to be a lot more handsome, there's some more angles here.

    Transit Fantasy Maps

Bathurst to Hilda has a wide section of grass separating the sidewalk and the road on either side, with around 3m on the south side and 11m on the north, which I believe was left for specifically this purpose. Yonge to Bayview is a different story. There's something like 2km of suburban...

North York City Centre (Yonge & Sheppard)

North York - Why Is This Here? - pretty good overlook from an outsider perspective of how North York Centre came about and what its strengths and weaknesses are

    Vaughan 100 Steeles West | 182.26m | 55s | Dream | BDP Quadrangle

Is this likely to get approved before Steeles BRT and the Yonge North extension?

    Westminster-Branson

I grew up in this area and I still live fairly close. It's very suburban in character, lots of strip malls, detached houses, tower-in-the-park apartments, things like that, so it doesn't have the typical neighbourhood character you see around older areas of the city, though it's still walkable...

Toronto Yonge Sheppard Centre Renovations and Expansion | 123.13m | 35s | RioCan | BDP Quadrangle

I really like how that cladding is turning out, it reminds me of the Scotiabank building at Yonge and St Clair

    Vaughan 7028 Yonge | 218.75m | 65s | Gupta | Arcadis

Well that explains the soil testing trucks I've been seeing there the last couple of months. Rush hour traffic at this intersection is horrendous, I really hope something is done to ease congestion here soon.

Lesser recognized buildings in Toronto that you enjoy

I've always been fond of these rentals near Alexander Muir park at Yonge and Lawrence And these two buildings (actually connected at the back) across from Rosedale station really stand out

    Markham The Vanguard | ?m | 27s | Devron Developments | Kirkor Architects

Friday's wind knocked down the scaffolding along Yonge. Luckily no one was hurt and it was easier to take photos.

I noticed the Kia dealership directly beside it at 7079 Yonge has moved, anyone know what will happen to that site?

North York City Centre (Yonge & Sheppard)

The Lowe's has been open for a while now. However, due to space restrictions it's not a full size Lowe's so it doesn't carry the same amount of inventory that a normal Lowe's would.
