X2 Condos (Great Gulf Homes/Lifetime Developments) - Real Estate -

Have you been following this stuff since you were 11!?

    Toronto architecture: a general observation

Few will deny that our streetscaping needs a work, but I think city-wide homogeneity is a bad idea. When both are done next summer, compare Bloor with Roncesvalles. Each will be great (hopefully) in their own way. In a few years the waterfront will have another unique concept, when Queens Quay...

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

I believe he was referring a screen on the card itself (or in this case, a cellphone in lieu of a card), so that you could check your balance anytime. The machines will have displays that show that information.

    Skyline on Jersey Boys Website

Actually the versions created by UTers look better than that.

    Church-Wellesley Village

Normally I'm all for the development of surface lots, but if all the lots in the village disappear where are they going to put the stages for pride? There's Cawthra Square Park and I guess in a pinch they could use Allan Gardens. But that's not really enough. Unfortunately we don't have a big...

    1233 Queen East | ?m | 8s

You're being pedantic. There's a big difference between using "anyways" and typing in unintelligible lolspeak. Sort of like speeding on the 401 versus being a serial killer. Sure they're both crimes, but the severity is very different.

Westside Gallery Lofts (Queen West Triangle, Urbancorp, 20 + 8s, Kirkor) COMPLETE

That's it, shut down UT. Did you hear everyone? People have lost their homes this year, so we should cut out the criticism. Sarcasm aside, nobody here has "lost it." Although many here are understandably wary of The Cheapening.

    Toronto James Cooper Mansion | ?m | 32s | Tridel | Burka

Went by last night and they're working on the second floor. Didn't have a camera, unfortunately and it was dark anyways. This will be one to watch in the coming year.

    Roncesvalles Reconstruction

Your friend has comprehension issues. The plan for Roncesvalles was detailed before construction started, complete with the controversial bumpouts that will allow people to board streetcars without walking into traffic.

    Church-Wellesley Village

So among all the doom and gloom, is there any good news in the neighbourhood these days? Somebody cheer me up please.

TTC is awful. Just got back from a 4 month trip to Europe.

I don't think you're in any position to criticize the mods when all you're doing is parroting the same complaints that have been repeated a million times. This forum thrives because of informed, intelligent discussion. If you want a non-stop TTC bitchfest look elsewhere.

    Toronto Aura at College Park | 271.87m | 78s | Canderel | Graziani + Corazza

If they're willing to claim a construction schedule that is completely impossible it makes one wonder if the date for starting excavation is made up too.

    Church-Wellesley Village

I was just in there yesterday evening and it was fine. Perhaps it's something more mundane, like staffing issues? Bartenders hate the management and decided to quit en masse?

Oh no, without Yogenfruz where will all the sketchy kids go?

    Toronto Casa | 147.52m | 46s | Cresford | a—A

I think the most criticism it got was the post about how people swimming in the pool might have to worry about stuff dropping on them from the balconies above! Universal acclaim is pretty rare around here, but in this case it is justified.

Toronto Offers Design Lessons for D.C.

If he was looking for out-of-context architecture he came to the right place. I've personally come to enjoy the near-random juxtaposition of different architectural styles, but I can understand why others aren't thrilled about it. It sounds like DC is extremely conservative on this point...

    Toronto Maple Leaf Square | 185.92m | 54s | Lanterra | KPMB

Not to mention that the view from the lake is very CityPlace-heavy. It's not exactly a showcase of our architectural diversity.
