I believe that there may be enough room for the ROCC in and behind the old car rental outlet that is behind the bus terminal and adjacent to the East Bay Teamway. It would make sense for it to be tucked in out of the way in a place like that.

I just took two sets of pictures - one from 44 King W. and one from 40 King W. All hand held with no flash, so a bit blurry. Very bad internal reflections in the one from 40 King W. In the 44 King W. pictures, you can see the really thick slab of the floor for the 13th floor with post-tensioning...

They are now pouring the western half of the floor for the 14th floor.:)

The last floor took extra long to complete as there was one area, perhaps extending over a sixth of the floor, that was incredibly massive, thick and heavily reinforced. From the look of the formwork going in now for the 14th floor, with no sunken area, I see the next floor being completed more...

^Agreed. VDub and khristopher: I think it's great that you live so near by and get to watch these two grow from up close. In addition, it will probably be more interesting to live near by and look at these towers all the time than to live in them and look out from them . . .

There is a nicely framed view of it from the east side of Bay just south of Front. Someone with a decent camera (not me, as my camera is pretty awful) should take a shot of it from there.

Maybe, except for the fact that it's a few floors above the parking structure and it is a very large area, not just a beam. Then again, I'm not an engineer, so what do I know. Support for a pool? Really heavy machinery?

Picture taken a few minutes ago. My apologies for how blurry it is. I can't get my tripod to lean over enough into the window for the picture and I have to turn the flash off to stop internal glass reflection. As a result, it's a hand-held shot braced against the window. As it gets higher...

Bay Adelaide Centre West Tower (Brookfield, 50s, WZMH)

Thanks, MatrixElement, for the look-see underground. I was in my office working Sunday when they were filming. Several police cars arrive on the scene right in front of the corner and cops jump out, scramble around, etc. I didn't see any "jumper". The cranes were really interesting to see in...

    Toronto Ïce Condominiums at York Centre | 234.07m | 67s | Lanterra | a—A

My bet (I'll wager the princely sum of $1 at 1:1 odds to any taker) is that based on the rate of sales and interest, they'll excavate the entire condo portion at once, but not address the commercial building portion. I'm not sure how this will impact the full extent of the canopy and the...

I really, really like those pictures. In particular, I like the blurred and streaked car lights at the bottom with the perfect in-focus towers rising up. Gives a real sense of TT forcefully reaching up to the heights of the other towers around.

^Indeed, the date has been a bit of a sliding one. As soon as it opens up, I'm sure one of us in the vicinity (Geekaroo, me, etc.) will post a notice alerting us all so that we can check it out.

Don't believe everything you read in the paper. I read the same article about that study and it's bunk. Pets like dogs and cats that eat commercial food that contain animal protein eat parts or by-products of animals that would otherside be tossed out. As such, the carbon footprint is much...

^It isn't open yet. BA's website says it's opening in October. Scotia Plaza's end is done, but there is no access through yet.

Shot of the 13th floor - click, click and expand. Note the incredible amount of rebar being installed in the lowered floor area in the south east corner. If the floor level in this corner is poured to the same height as the rest of the 13th floor, then this is going to be one massive and thick...

    Toronto Union Station Revitalization | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto | NORR

I read in the paper a few years ago about some guys who travelled through Union Station exploring parts never seen by the public. They ended up in the basement of the Royal York at one point (if I recall correctly), visited boiler rooms, the ceiling over the great hall, etc., etc. See also...

And from the report in the above post: "The hotel portions of the building, listed as 311 Bay Street, will be clad in a light grey limestone in order to complement the surrounding buildings. The residences, listed as 333 Bay Street, and the quarter onion dome will be clad in glass."

Right now they pouring the floor for the western half of what appears to be the 13th (if it will bear that number) floor (being the "12th level, hotel suites", as described in the stacking plan).
