As one who is sorely missing his green space these days, I stand in solidarity with those who promote free and independent use of private green space.
Cities can be too antiseptic at times.
With Rabid (and Marylin Chambers) soon to follow.
Slightly off topic, I remember years ago there was a Cronenberg exhibition in the bowels of the ROM. Had some nice pieces such as the gynecological instruments from Dead Ringers and various other pieces and clips from many of his films...
No doubt someone will soon drudge something from The Sun that will be equally appalling.
Sensationalism and information age voyeurism sells--the unfortunate thing is it seems to be getting worse rather than getter better.
I think I'll check this one out at the library. Ballard did some great dystopian stuff--I remember reading and enjoying Drowned World for a Sci-Fi course in university.
Apart from the obvious at Square One there's usually some free parking available along Webb Drive or in the office parking lot near the corner of Webb and Confederation Parkway if you don't mind a short walk.
I Hate Illinois Nazis
Seems that everything is being remade, evidence that either Western creativity is waning or else studios are looking for a fast (and safe) buck.
There is only one Blues Brothers.

Zack Greinke hasn't been consistent long enough for me to count him in such rarefied company. He was only 13-10 last year and 5-17 a few years before that. I will agree Santana is in Halladay territory but I'd still rather have Halladay.
Parents can complain about just about anything although they cannot prevent other children from accessing the curriculum or resource if it has already been approved. Generally there's a process to the complaint that includes a meeting with the parents by the principal and the requirement to...
Defending Darwinian evolution did take up a significant portion of his life and happened at a time Darwin himself was doing less of it. However, it's true that it does tend to overshadow some of his other accomplishments as a great rationalist, educator and biologist. I definitely agree...
I also agree about the unnecessary name change. Rogers Centre is so bland and SkyDome (which was mildly controversial at the time--I believe a young girl chose it) seemed to grow on the place. Even though it has had its issues it was far better than Exhibition Stadium (oh, those benches--brrr)...
Miles Davis
Yes, I figured he'd be a somewhat controversial choice (and I'm also a big fan of the less than pleasant Sellers as well) but I think just choosing people based upon their agreeability (or non-controversial life) would limit things greatly. I think one can choose people with...
Roy Halliday is the closest thing to a guaranteed win in Major League baseball--incredible movement and consistency. But the issue is the other four behind him--they need to get consistent again or it won't last.
On a non-topical note, this thread looks for anyone of any background, time period or political (or non-political) stripe who has made a significant contribution to our world in some form or another. Wikipedia or other links to the subject are encouraged.
There are too many to mention but to...
This is rather topical as we just finished doing sex ed for health class today where I work.
It's ridiculous for this legislation to pass as it puts a chill on educators doing their job in informing students, especially at the high school level where kids really need to know about sexual...
