Not really surprised he found a lot of support for abolishing the land transfer tax in a room full of real estate agents http://www.thestar.com/news/cityhallpolitics/article/1204323--toronto-mayor-rob-ford-hopes-to-phase-out-land-transfer-tax?bn=1

Hume: Is Toronto having a mid-rise crisis?

+1 Couldn't agree more with your comments. It's not surprising developers push for increased heights and densities (and neglect mid-rise) given the amount of time and money it takes to navigate a development through City Hall.

The site is actually a bit west of that... Roughly bordered by Adelaide St. W, Adelaide Pl., Browns Ln (if it extended to the East), & the 103-111 Bathurst Project (N/E/S/W) The Context project is an interesting one though too!

I think the building at the SE corner of King West and Techumseth is just as tall. I've always thought its a bit of a shame that Adelaide runs one way East instead of West - another tall building on the north side of Adelaide would frame the church nicely.

    Baby, we got a bubble!?

I'm not naive to the realities of a recession, I'm just playing devil's advocate here... there are always winners and losers It may not happen the way you envision either
