I'm a relative newcomer to this forum and that was one of the first things I noticed. There are 2 or 3 members, maybe more, who seem to think aA can do no wrong, and react with a tantrum when their supposed "superior" tastes are questioned. I think it's a case of The Emperor's New Clothes.

I'm the first to admit that I'm a dreamer and that the market, developers' costs and technical challenges can limit what gets built, but I'd like to be surprised once in a while. Real creativity should step in to overcome these challenges and still provide more visual appeal. I'm still holding...

Great for all you guys who get your rocks off to all these rinse and repeat boxes, but tedious for the rest of us, and the city. Keep this going and there will be an "aA Avenue" somewhere in Toronto, where clones of people walk among identical buildings in some kind of futuristic nightmare.

I agree with you on that for sure. I'm also a huge fan of Dupont Terrace. I'd love to see more projects like it.

I wish I was kidding! Although there are a lot of things I like about Uptown, the starkness of the precast cladding is not one of them. I'm not suggesting they paint it as fake bricks, but some kind of texturing might save it. Gotta say that Uptown does look amazing at night in this video...
