    Toronto TeaHouse 501 Yonge Condominiums | 170.98m | 52s | Lanterra | a—A

Judging by the posts I guess I am the only one that love the stores in this area. About ten years ago I worked near Yonge north of Wellesley and I miss it. There were lots of little independent bars and restaurants we would have lunch at or meet after work at. I would stroll into a number of...

It looks bad because the spire is to tall in relation to the onion dome (or whatever it is called)

Funny, I worked in this building, and I allways just assumed that it was an old school that was turned into an office building. I loved working in that area, for one you get some exercise walking to bloor for the subway line, instead of trying to get on at Wellesley North bound. The area...

In one of the pictures you can see what looks like black tiles. I am wondering if this heats up with the sun to help cure the concrete. Does anyone know?

And as an aside - Very true, but architects are under crazy design schedules from the client as well. The client wants construction to start on a certain date/month and it does not matter how many changes are made to the design you need to meet the deadline and this reflected in the quality...

    Nathan Phillips Square Homeless Issue

I find it interesting that in our society, mental and other issues can leed a person to be homeless and or suicidal yet if a person goes to a bridge and looks like they may jump off it, a witness can call the police and they will come and can physically restrain the person from jumping and the...

Yes I have in fact driven around LA and it is big (sprawling) and congested (apparently Toronto is now more congested) and they have something called freeways which are easy to navigate, I found far less transports on them, and no express/collector issues. Yes I stayed in a hotel there my...

Of course I am serious, I have been to Los Angeles and driven around, it is noted for the king of sprawl and you can see why. Looking out from Griffith observatory you see a cluster of tall buildings in the CBD then the city sprawls to the horizon. You mean Ottawa as the nations capital with all...

The contractor usually gets ready in an anticipation of the permit issue so they can start immediately after; it is illegal to start without the appropriate permit.

I think the leasing companies stats are fair. Los Angeles and Houston have minimal office space outside the CBD so no need to include it, where as Toronto has a lot of office space outside the CBD so it is fair to include the whole city to give a more accurate office space number. I think you...

Just to point out why sometimes just metric is not used: Most as-built drawings of existing buildings of a certain age are in imperial so if a new, addition, or renovation is contimplated it sometimes makes sense to stay in imperial.

What! Only common people would think you can dig a little hole and put up a 42 storey building. :)
