The PATH system is just like a highway, if you wanted to go to Detroit from TO you need to know to follow the signs '401 to London' then '401 to Windsor' before you will see signs for Detroit. PATH system you need to know Union to TD Centre, to First Canadian Place, to Scotia Plaza, to Bay...

The rail yard for the western approach to Union Station beside the model makes me wonder about noise levels when they are shifting trains from tracks and the coming and going of trains (low pulsing sound from the diesel engines) verse City Centre airport noise. I wonder what is louder.

I was thinking with the second last picture, the crane looks like a cell/tv/radio tower like FCP has. It would look good to have one tower in the middle like that.

It seems to me the building is old but the site is historic and one has nothing to do with the other. If that is the case it would be interesting to know if there was opposition back in the day to building the post office on the site? Why would they allow a post office to be built on the...

Never mind the balconies what do the back of the white lines attached to the window look like from inside the unit, and am I missing something, why would you want your view interrupted like that.

    Toronto Ten York Street Condos | 224.02m | 65s | Tridel | Wallman Architects

Totally agree with this point, Toronto's waterfront must be at least 30 km wide and only a small part has condo's on it and they are downtown where you would expect it. But yes everyone stay away from harbourfront I enjoy easily getting a seat at one of the outdoor patios watching boats in the...

I was told by a contractor once that it wasn't the cold that stops the work because they can always dress for it, it is a safety concern because with all the clothes/gear on, there is a loss of mobility, and ability to see dangers around and above them.

No the stores are slowly closing, Burger King around the corner closed recently and now the shoe store near the bagel place has a sign that it is closing.

It would be temporary as the signs are placed on the air/vapour material for the wall. The exterior cladding still needs to go on.

I applaud whoever engineered the scaffolding near the top; and those that walk around on it, my knees would be too weak.

I think the bait and switch would more likely occur on projects with a design competition and I don't think it would necessarily be on purpose. For a design competitions, I am not sure there would not be enough time to explore products and details to ensure the design is achievable. I know for...

also correct me if I am wrong but people in general do not like to decorate an oddly shaped condo.

You see that a lot with condo marketing and I have not understood it. Would you not want to show off that you are in the middle of it all. Some look like they are in the middle of a field.

The reality is an economic one. When you have a city like Toronto where there is a high demand for housing, unless you supply that demand for housing costs will continue rise. We will be as costly as New York one day, by protecting low density areas where people want to live (ie. downtown)...

I seriously doubt it is separated by only drywall. It is usually a double stud wall with special sound absorbing insultation in between. Insultation absorbs sound much better than a hard surface. The bass sound from rap music which because of the broad sound wave travels easily through a hard...
