Not sure if mentioned yet, but I noticed on the hoarding recently that there's a sign for Farm Boy. Talk about turning into a massive grocery location -- there's a Sobeys and Lobawls about a two minute walk away both east and west.

I'm in awe of the size of this site.

    King Street (Streetcar Transit Priority)

I think it's because the rules are counter intuitive. If we're going to create rules, they need to be easy to understand and intuitive so that the behaviour can be learned quickly and can become second nature to drivers both local and visiting. We have too many convoluted rules and exceptions...

    King Street (Streetcar Transit Priority)

I was thinking more along the lines of a Karlstor in Munich (the concept of it, not quiet the look). A physical gateway vs barrier.

    King Street (Streetcar Transit Priority)

If the King St Pilot becomes permanent, I really hope they install some sort of "gate" or "entrance" on both ends on King St. While we're all aware of the intricacies of this area, most people visiting or out of towners wouldn't have a clue as to them, it's just a continuation of a regular...

    Toronto Queens Quay & Water's Edge Revitalization | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

I don't drive very often in this area nor do most of my friends, but man... for the first time, I understood why so many drivers are so confused when navigating through this area. I was sitting in the passenger seat and got a driver's view of what it's like to drive at night in this area...

From the renders, it looks like a new set of traffic lights will be installed between Shaw and Christie? Or am I imagining things? That stretch block between the two streets is a solid 5 full minutes of walking. I live in the neighbourhood, so seeing this is exciting. Hopefully it brings...

    Mississauga M1 & M2 at M City | 197.81m | 60s | Rogers Real Estate | Core Architects

I hope this increase foot traffic and brings more of a neighbourhood feel to the area. It feels like it was just yesterday that they announced this.

These renders look great. I grew up around this area and it is in dire need of redevelopment. I'm glad this is being developed here, because, if anything, it'll extend commerce further west of Dufferin.

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

Wouldn't it have been better to put the bike lanes on the other side of the trees and beside the pedestrian sidewalk?

    Vaughan Transit City Condos | 176.17m | 55s | CentreCourt | Diamond Schmitt

I really hope this area has more smaller-scale commerce at street level similar to places like Barcelona. Huge transit hub, but streets full of people. I would hate it if this turned into yet another car-dependent neighbourhood.

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

Having just visited Barcelona and Lisbon, I have no idea why TTC/Metrolinx went with the faregates that they did. Why not something more substantial that works better and faster and is (from what I've seen) less prone to breaking.

    Toronto Union Pearson Express | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | MMM Group Limited

I took the UP last week to and from the airport and I have to say, I'm pretty impressed with it. The price seemed justified to me for the ride duration and the ease of connection to T1 and Union. Ridership seemed good to me (all seats filled, albeit still standing room). I'd say in terms of...

General cycling issues (Is Toronto bike friendly?)

After spending a week in Barcelona, I've come to the realization that Toronto has a long way to go in terms of bicycle infrastructure. The paths were either clearly separated or painted a bright colour for visibility. I think bloor is a great first start, but we need more of this, especially on...
