Too bad the Silva Cells won't help the oil-canning I'm seeing in your pic @slicecom . But I guess the taller the trees grow, the more this building will be hidden from view, which is a start.

Are there going to be cellphone antennae on the roof of this building too? Great pix, @Rascacielo

Three steps forward with the base cladding, two steps back with the tower cladding.

Pre-inflation / pre-COVID, $20 for a Euro hem was average, maybe even a touch low. Today, that's a good price. Thanks everyone for your suggestions!

@DSC, we've got activate the laneways in our 'hood. That'll help overcome the blight of this project.

Seeing the silo partly restored makes me think that's it a great shame other silos on the waterfront have been lost. We've still got a couple left though, including this one, thankfully.

Much better than the sh*tty strip mall it replaces.

IKEA needs to take over Marshall's and expand the store. It's too small for the amount of traffic it gets.

I don't see how an 80-storey, 259 m tower here won't cast shadows onto St. James Cathedral / Park. There's no way the city will approve this. My ballpark guess is that it'll be cut down to the height of Yonge and Rich, maybe more as this is closer to the cathedral / park.

^^^ I disagree. I don't think it's "that bad" or even just "bad." It's not what the renderings promised but it still looks good IMO. I think this project's gotten an unfair pile-on.

Nope. I made a more recent comment about the positive impact this project is going to have on a pocket of downtown that's been overlooked for decades. Also, I noted that given the area I'm pleasantly surprised by the quality of design, materials and execution I'm seeing here.

I hope those columns are going to be clad.

I made a positive post about this project the other day that seems to have disappeared...🤔

Does anyone know a good tailor in the neighbourhood for simple stuff like shortening or taking in pants, that kind of thing? I took my jeans to Stitch It at TD Centre yesterday and they're charging me $50 to patch the seat of my jeans!! I've got another pair I need to shorten and I don't want to...

Yes, developers call the shots but when they work with quality architects like HPA it makes a huge difference. Maybe it's about mutual trust and respect... I never could have foreseen such a high-quality quality project in a part of town that's been a "throwaway" for decades. The transformation...

    Toronto 55C: 55 Charles Condos | 167m | 50s | MOD Developments | a—A

The materials here and the way they're deployed really elevate this project. MOD and a-A are a great team.

I'm getting used to the design and I'm confident a-A will deliver something of quality, even within Concord's bean-counting constraints.
