Roads: Gardiner Expressway catch-all, incl. Hybrid Design (2015-onwards)

Technically that area is publicly accessible, though the signage indicating No Entry might be the source of the confusion. This area is for drop-off only so it's expected for the public to access it from a transit vehicle and boarding is not allowed from this area. This was all laid out in the...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

The mechanism you are describing where the left and right points move is not used on the streetcar network. The surface network uses single-point switches, where only one point is used on the inside rail of the curve. The outside rail follows the path it is pulled into by the inside rail but...

Not sure what you're trying to say here. The N-W curve is present and can be used to execute the same diversion as W-S at Richmond and S-W at King. I'll grant you that the E-N curve may also be useful and should already exist. You're correct, I was going by a TTC overhead map I had open that...

    Streetcar Tracks on Adelaide

I'll start by saying I agree with the general principal that the TTC should be adding curves when opportunities arise, more curves generally provide more options, especially in an unforeseen detour. However, after looking into the trackage in this area I'm not surprised this particular curve...

That section lacks full shoulders, the bump outs on both sides at that point provide a place to pull over. Likely implemented this way as a cost savings. EDIT: You can see there's no additional infrastructure like stairs in the 1968 Aerial photo: Source...

This just in! Metrolinx has been unable to install the curves at Queen as their contracted bending unit has had unexpected activities with the assigned project manager. Live look below:

The Scarborough RT cars are moving to Detroit. No word on whether the brake pedals are staying. https://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/local/detroit-city/2024/06/10/new-railcars-coming-detroit-people-mover-from-toronto/74046078007/

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

That track map for line 3 is quite woefully out of date as it still shows the east/northbound track along the LSE corridor as being on the south side.

    Streetcar Tracks on Adelaide

It's a component of a protected intersection and is supposed to increase visibility of the conflicting movements of a straight through cyclist and a left turning vehicle. For traffic approaching from the west, cyclists are meant to proceed on the left and motor vehicles turning left should be...

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Operators aren't going to be picketing construction sites as they aren't yet the locations where they work. And in case you aren't making some reference to current labour negotiations, having a public agency responsible for project delivery doesn't stop them from hiring private companies to...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Oh absolutely, it makes sense to try it first and then refine before wider deployment, but these were announced in 2019. I think it's fair to wonder whether they've just forgotten about this project. Ah, I hadn't noticed that, thanks for pointing it out.

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

If your criteria is just busy stations then there's plenty that could use them that haven't had them installed. Having them in more places also means riders will be more familiar with them, I know they look really obvious in their purpose but some people won't clue in right away. Finally, and...

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

This is what P3s are for, limit the information the public has a right to so that there are fewer stories to embarrass the government. Flood the zone with positive stories and if you must release negative information it can be properly spun to limit damage. I have no doubt that if the TTC were...

    Streetcar Tracks on Adelaide

From their work with trains one assumes they confused the sound of deadlines wooshing by with success. To be fair they aren't technically late yet, but unless they have some novel construction technique I don't see how they finish the intersection work at York & Richmond by June 7th.
