Probably to help with noise and also helps with worker comfort and productivity being away from the elements.

If they already have tenants for phase 1 that is excellent news.

    Burlington 1200 King Road | ?m | ?s | Alinea | DIALOG

Eh. Not loving it, it's not really walking distance from the GO Station so the density is rather high.

Damn, I drove by it on my way home last night and debated stopping. Apparently I should have!

This is one of the first times the City did heritage retention in development, right?

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

underground will average about 30-35km and above-ground will average about 20-25km/h. So ~14 minutes for Mount Dennis to Yonge St, for example, or 26 minutes for Kennedy to Yonge (this one aligns with the published travel times).

your mistake is believing that it originates from the Premiers level. The stupidity isn't on that level. It's at the political staffer level. Ford isn't stupid. He just likely didn't have the information. He told his minister to remove land from the greenbelt and tell him what parcels that...

And perhaps it was calculated maleficence. But there simply isn't anything suggesting that much yet. I suspect Hanlon's Razor applies here in that you should mever attribute to malice what which is adequately explained by stupidity. And I certainly have no problem viewing many within the PC...

Yes - he was recorded as such in 2017 IIRC, after then walking back that promise when it backfired on him during the 2018 election. Opening up the greenbelt is also not in itself a criminal act. It's a policy choice. Ford had been very anti-opening the greenbelt publicly for 4 years in advance...

    Toronto 83 Bloor West | 260.25m | 77s | Parallax | Arcadis

there are two extra cabs for the podium levels: Agreed on the demographic makeup of the building though, and it'll probably be densely populated with students crammed in to the units too.

    Toronto 83 Bloor West | 260.25m | 77s | Parallax | Arcadis

Looking at those plans, it's 11 cabs for 1,400 units, or 128 units/cab. Not great but certainly not awful. Is there a specific concern?

    Toronto 83 Bloor West | 260.25m | 77s | Parallax | Arcadis

Personally I would nominate 8 Elm as ICE 3, or perhaps Dundas Square Gardens. Both are / will be messes of buildings. Also: This uses a "sky lobby". So going from you unit to your parking space and out of the building? It looks like this: 1. Wait for one of 3 elevators to move you from your...

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Did you read the article? They are actively training TTC staff for operations. The line is incredibly close. Construction is effectively 100% complete and it's just a matter of staffing the line up. I would be surprised if it doesn't open by end of year.

I believe the Green P is a part of the 31R Parliament development: https://urbantoronto.ca/database/projects/31r-parliament-street.10289 And yes, it had it converted to a red brick paver lane: It's on hold though and no longer has an active site plan application with the City, from what I...

Dundas St Rapid Transit (Metrolinx, Mississauga, Halton Region, CoT)

This is very standard practice across the province. Roads have "ultimate" right of way widths which new development must accommodate to protect for future widenings, etc.
