    Toronto Ontario Line: Pape Station | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | HDR

I see the plaza as a break from the monotony of the streetwall.

A a future station could be in trench (ie open to the sky) to the east of Cherry Street (so more consistent with a gradual slope) and could even be a part of an extended tunnel portal. They just need to build a level section of guideway/track.

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

It looks like a truss brdge with a regular OL station built on it.

I don't think it's faux. It looks structural as there is void space under the "bridge" where the streetcar is pictured.

Looks like the corners will be poured (not prefab). There's even ductwork in place - I guess that would indicate fitting out of the Apple store?

They seem to cause excessive view blockage versus a simple vertical fin without additional sun shading. Design-wise, they do look like window shutters, but at the cost of claustrophobia inside (?)

So 160 Front will block the view of the Union Centre elevators?

It has a bit of a 70s vibe to it. Like Mr GreenJeans at Eaton Centre. https://www.thespec.com/business/2014/09/04/landmark-mr-greenjeans-closing-after-34-years-in-eaton-centre.html

    Toronto CIBC SQUARE | 241.39m | 50s | Hines | WilkinsonEyre

I was actually expecting only the diamond logo, which I think would have looked good large and centred on the taller tower in the big 'V' up there.

    Toronto CIBC SQUARE | 241.39m | 50s | Hines | WilkinsonEyre

The CIBC logos on the previous page are pretty underwhelming. I expected something as big as the TELUS sign.

Looks like they're at the top of the podium.

Isn't it also a publicly owned building? The last thing you want is excessive wear and tear and no budget to fix them.

    Montréal Transit Developments

Some of the supports for the guideway look too thin to support it. Once the engineers get to it, those will be bulkier.

If the OL yard were to be built over, it would be in a trench like Davisville, so I doubt it, though not impossible to build over it at grade.

Will that come with the Westbank project to the south?

Those small living room windows are a consequence of the nice exterior limestone podium facade. At least the Juliet balcony has French doors so you can open them and clean the glass!

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

Clearance under the train between the reaction rail and the LIM in snow. The LIM is just about 1 cm above the reaction rail (for the magnetic forces to work) and snow and ice clog it up.

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

The trains won't be linear induction due to clearance issues. They'll probably be like the REM trains in Montreal. They will likely have an overhead catenary (based on all the renderings to date). For SkyTrain, the MKIIIs were designed with larger windows (taller, lower) for better views...

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

I doubt the noise barriers would be that tall, as they would block the views from the trains when seated.

Spot the ugly downspouts in both pics.
