University Avenue (History and Future Redesign)

Just so you know (not trying to get off topic), the city is moving forward with a project that would make Downtown Yonge St a pedestrian/bike-oriented street. They're halfway done with the design.

University Avenue (History and Future Redesign)

This is obviously an amazing project, but how would this street be vibrant (even after its reconstruction)? The land uses are mostly institutional (healthcare and research) and the buildings are bulky and unwelcoming to pedestrians. The street will look beautiful; but the lack of ground-floor...

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

I think the GO Train livery is really nice, especially the new scheme. It's very memorable and attractive.

    Toronto One Delisle | 155m | 44s | Slate | Studio Gang

Did they change the design? The hexagons are missing! It doesn't look nice anymore.

Why would she support it? Just because it's located next to transit doesn't mean it has to be this tall. She, of all people, should know this and that the proximity to 80 Bloor is terrible.

Toronto Oak House at Canary Landing | 162.61m | 46s | Dream | Henning Larsen

This is really concerning, and I'm afraid the province will issue zoning orders for all big or politically-connected projects! This is really bad, as the minister is not accountable to the communities and doesn't consult with them. This could lead to lots of corruption and the eventual...

    Toronto Eglinton Line 5 Crosstown West Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

If you really care this much about the fact that it's not elevated, you could just call the premier. His phone # is on his website and he returns his calls very often (unlike all politicians). Just don't be rude.

TTC Fleet Procurement Strategy - 2022

Actually, the plan is to buy 80 new subway trains for Line 2.

    Toronto Lower Don Lands Redevelopment | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

Everyone here is ignoring one thing about Sidewalk (despite their many problems), it offered beautiful architecture by Heatherwick & Snohetta and an innovative public realm. Knowing our cheap developers, what are the chances we can get something as awesome as their design? We'll probably just...

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

Usually, elevated guideways blend in well when they avoid switching sides across roads (especially around intersections), when they avoid sidewalks (in 'urbanized' areas), and generally in suburban areas. Don Mills is not wide, and only has space for a sidewalk. This means that the sidewalk will...

    Toronto 1200 Bay | 326.5m | 87s | ProWinko | Herzog & de Meuron

Sorry, I didn't mean to disappoint anyone. I just meant that too much density squeezed in together can be a problem.

Sure! There is no development yet, but the city's Don Mills Secondary Plan plans one for that location. Secondary Plan Presentation and Images Scroll to the last page for a concept picture that shows the entire intersection.

The Crosstown Community will definitely not be affected, and moving the station to the South side of Eglinton means that extensions will not interfere with the Block 1 office (https://urbantoronto.ca/database/projects/crosstown-community-block-1). However, the property on the North-East side...

    Toronto 1200 Bay | 326.5m | 87s | ProWinko | Herzog & de Meuron

Exactly, but separation also matters. Otherwise, Toronto would start looking like Hong Kong (which isn't very livable). Finally, it doesn't really fit in well with the neighbourhood, and height isn't the only thing that makes a project great.

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

As you can see, it'll cross the roadway in a very important location, instead of sticking to one side. This will only worsen its impact on the public realm by making it less pedestrian-friendly.

    Toronto 1200 Bay | 326.5m | 87s | ProWinko | Herzog & de Meuron

This is definitely a 'standout' project, but it's better to have a nicer district rather than one supertall building. Also, 80 Bloor (which is far superior in design) will not get built if this gets approved, because there isn't enough room for seperation.

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

The fact that they chose to divert the Thorncliffe Park section (resulting in two very tight curves and more destroyed trees) is beyond me. And why do they want to make the elevated section go through the middle of the Don Mills/Eglinton intersection? This is terrible for the surrounding...

    Toronto 31R Parliament Street | 165.8m | 49s | Cityscape | SHoP

Does anyone know what's going on with this project? Were they supposed to return to the DRP again?

    Toronto Eglinton Line 5 Crosstown West Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Hi! I fully understand that transit needs to be built and too much debate is one of the reasons we've stalled on it. I also understand that a fast link to the airport/Mississauga is needed, but most of the corridor is just houses and "established neighbourhoods". Unless the zoning changes for...

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

I've always wondered what that orange section (next to the entrance) is for. Was MX going to put art there?
