    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

People in Montreal are much more likely, from my experience, to use alternatives to highways than are people in Toronto.

Toronto Urban Sprawl Compared to Other Cities

Honestly, I just get annoyed when people use made up facts and embellishments to aggrandize their point. It wasn't obvious you were poking fun. You wanted to make a stronger point so you wrote something for which you probably don't know is true or false, in order to convince.

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

Toronto has some of the lowest amount of kms of freeway per capita in North America. I'm sure that statistic would also be true about transit. Low on both accounts.

Toronto Urban Sprawl Compared to Other Cities

This is probably the main reason people like to live in building with a concierge. I know it is for me. I buy a lot of my day to day things online from Amazon (read toilet paper, detergent, etc). Not having someone there to sign for me would make it less convenient (and I likely wouldn't use...

Toronto Gilgan Family Queensway Health Centre | 45.1m | 9s | Trillium Health Partners | Stantec

I was under the impression the Queensway was going to be reverted back to a full Hospital, but it doesn't look like that is the case.

What bricks and mortar retail will always remain bricks and mortar?

People who like to go shopping as a social activity, or even just as something to do, will continue to do it. For many people, it is a "free" way to spend your Saturday or Sunday, walking around, seeing people and different things. Eating at the food court. I don't think that will ever stop.

    Toronto Eau du Soleil Condos | 227.98m | 66s | Empire | Richmond Architects

Maybe alternate service (every second train stops at Mimico), but all trains should be stopping at Park Lawn. Look at the density. It would surely be one of the busiest stops on the line, without any viable alternatives. It is the province, through OMB decisions, that allowed for all this...

    Toronto Casino Woodbine | 31.85m | 11s | One Toronto Gaming | CGL Architects

Please. Northern Ontario is much more like Montreal/Quebec in that sense. A libertarian + populist left = chill.

    Toronto Eau du Soleil Condos | 227.98m | 66s | Empire | Richmond Architects

Going to be massive for Etobicoke, and great for the skyline. Not so much for traffic in the area.

Waterfront Transit Reset Phase 1 Study

It's really is ludicrous that this much intensification and density hasn't convinced any level of government to intervene. Let's build a subway to Scarborough where we can only hope this kind of density comes alone. Oh wait, it already exists in South Etobicoke, but who cares. Doesn't help...

    2018 Ontario Provincial Election Discussion

It was clear in the announcement that "Tenants will be adequately compensated if asked to vacate for "landlord use.", and that being asked to vacate still applies even if the lease is up, because it is an expectation that the lease continues if no 2 month notice is given (on either end). So the...

What bricks and mortar retail will always remain bricks and mortar?

    Pharmacies/Drug stores. Alcohol sales. Food.

    Toronto Westlake Encore | 146.3m | 45s | Onni Group | P + S / IBI

Any news on who the anchor retail tenant will be? The original Westlake towers still have a couple of empty small slots, surprisingly.

    Toronto 327 Royal York Road | 118.5m | 35s | VANDYK | SvN

Looks like this may be cancelled? Land/site is now for sale. http://v3.torontomls.net/Live/Pages/Public/Link.aspx?Key=18cd8b0f4a444697b8f1bd259272d808&App=TREB#W3749859

    Toronto Kipling Station Transit Hub | ?m | 2s | Metrolinx | SAI

Exactly my point. Nothing in Smart Track for South Etobicoke. He seems to think the area doesn't exist, despite some of the highest growing densities in the city.

    Toronto Kipling Station Transit Hub | ?m | 2s | Metrolinx | SAI

Surprise, Surprise. John Tory is not at an Etobicoke press conference. Heck, Bonnie Crombie is there. South Etobicoke voted for Tory. Not sure why he doesn't seem interested in the area at all. Not a word about Humber Bay Shores from him. Nothing about Kipling. It's all about Scarborough...

Questions regarding "transit cabotage" and routes post subway extension

So, for example, for the TTC 52 Lawrence West, MiWay has asked TTC to operate the route? This doesn't make sense to me. MiWay already has their Route 7 which is an exact duplication of the route from Pearson to Westwood, for the part of TTC 52 operated in Mississauga. Why would MiWay want the...

Questions regarding "transit cabotage" and routes post subway extension

I guess my question, then, is why isn't the reverse true?
