When the Eaton's at Yorkdale closed, it took about the same time to make it into a functional section of that mall. There's a lot involved in turning a space that size into an area that blends with the rest of the mall.

Back when Ryerson was building the engineering school on Church, they wanted to buy the Esso station at the NE corner of Church and Dundas. The asking price was too high as that's Esso's highest revenue station in downtown Toronto.

Took them long enough! I think someone should re-open the silver rail there. They can bring back the $6 manhattan specials, along with the grilled cheese and shrimp sammies.

No, it never happened. Not sure why it fell apart, but it was supposed to open about 3 years ago. At one point Apple had signed a lease for the Club Monaco location at Bloor and Avenue as well, and that fell apart due to historical site requirements.

Apple has never closed a store at this point. Even if they opened a flagship across the street, they'd keep the eaton centre store open. The sheer volume it does is insane, and a secondary location close would make life more tolerable for the store. That was supposed to be the reason for the...

They'll never leave Eaton Centre, as the exposure there is just too great. As far as I know, there are plans for two more stores downtown. Yorkville, and then south of queen.

The malls in Vancouver, like Pacific Centre, have really reduced hours on the weekends. FCP does massive business pre and post office hours.

I agree. They were going to open a secondary store in FCP, but that fell through some how.

They were offered the old Harry Rosen spot, but didn't like the sight lines with the elevators in the way.

But didn't Sherbourne Commons include the cost of the storm water treatment that is underneath the park? Whereas this has no underground component....
