    City Workers Strike 2009

The city just planted hundreds of trees on Lakeshore between Leslie and Woodbine. I'm a little worried about their demise without adequate rain. (The workers have been watering them all individually for the past week or so.)

    City Workers Strike 2009

I'm sure the striking workers won't like it, but I'm glad to see the city going around and sealing up the public trash cans. Bring your garbage home with you for the next little while.

    Toronto Casa | 147.52m | 46s | Cresford | a—A

But we'll have all have the stylish 6th floor to share and everyone has their own large balconies for outdoor fun. I actually think Cresford was smart here by giving the PH level their own private paradise atop of Casa so they can charge them an exorbitant amount of money. Very smart. The...

    Toronto Jaedon Mews | ?m | 3s | UrbanQuest | Arch DWG

I'd be surprised if they didn't sell them all. This street and the neighbouring streets make up a wonderful neighbourhood. Most folks living there seem to take pride in their homes and yards. Quiet streets with lush canopies of mature trees. A short walk to almost anything you'd need.

Park Lake Residences (Pemberton, 2x 18s, Burka)

It's very possible that I've been jaded by the render. I've been seeing the render (which Josef is using as his avatar) for more than 3 years now and was expecting something in reality to at least hint at a shimmer... or at least hint at high-end... or use larger pieces of reflective glass...

    Toronto Casa | 147.52m | 46s | Cresford | a—A

Ah-ha! That's what I thought originally. The 46th floor has access to a 2nd level which is why I was so sure we could call this 47 floors. I'll have to stop by to check out those floorplans if they don't put it up on their website.

Got it. I thought someone was saying that that yellow insulation was the pre-cast.

I don't think that's the actual pre-cast, is it? It looks like some sort of insulation or padding before the pre-cast.

56 Lippincott Street (Townhomes, Blurredge Group, 3s, Brad Netkin)

The protruded window treatment reminds me of what they're doing at 750 Lakeshore Blvd East: Also, there was an advertised public preview of 56 Lippincott yesterday. Did anyone attend?

Park Lake Residences (Pemberton, 2x 18s, Burka)

Apologies to the folks who bought here, but... When I first saw how they were treating the base with that walmart-white colour I had a feeling this project was going to turn out blah at best. Now that I see the window treatment. Ugh. The "elegance" that the original render implied will not...

So sleek. So logical. Sooo sexy. So high-end feeling. And yet so huggable.

10 months later. The church has been demolished. That is all.

For those who keep track of such things: the crane for this project went in on May 12, 2007. (So 2 years and one month for the life of the BSN crane). Here's a couple shots of the crane removal. (I'm sure others will have better). Cresford has also added a giant banner (like Casa's vertical...

^Another awesome, rarely seen angle. Now... What is going on here? It looks indeed like they are adding another floor. Why would they raise the forms this way for the hat when the walls of the hat are inset and the roof of the hat is much much higher?

Beautiful as always, Tomms. I'm crossing my fingers you'll soon be posting photos from atop you-know-where.

56 Lippincott Street (Townhomes, Blurredge Group, 3s, Brad Netkin)

Nice new project in Kensington Market. A first for this developer. A joint venture between designers Elaine Cecconi and Anna Simone (founders of Cecconi Simone) and architect Brad Netkin. From the website: Located at 56 Lippincott Street on the edge of Toronto's vibrant Kensington...

From my vantage point it looks like they are removing the the crane right now. Can anyone confirm? Edit: It definitely looks like it. Hope someone is there snapping pics.

Agreed. 46 it is. (And REAL floors too, none of this silly skipping numbers stuff.)

    Toronto Casa | 147.52m | 46s | Cresford | a—A

On first glance it appears they're setting up do pour another level, but I think that scaffolding must be for something else. You can clearly see that the 46th floor has much higher ceilings and that the ceiling concrete is much thicker than the other floors. Also, my neck and back are hurting...

Ick. If the horizontal green lines were all windows (or at least appeared to be) it would be so much better.
