Hopefully the retail will be something other than banks and drycleaners... otherwise the area will be doomed to remain pedestrian unfriendly..

Wow, more than 1/3 sold already? How does one go about getting such preview access to developments like these? I've had my eye on this project, and it seems the earliest information I could get is from agents offering "preview" access this coming weekend, and even then, no information on...

So, I noticed that what looks like the start of some scaffolding was coming up around the building today. Not sure if this is anything to be excited about? Probably just another film shoot or something, huh....

    Condo Residents Website

Quick question for those of you that live in condos: Does your building have a community website for all the residents, for general discussions, and/or online booking and forms for reserving elevators, the party room, etc.? I'm curious as to whether there are any successful examples out...

    Toronto 550 Wellington West and 1 Hotel | ?m | 15s | Freed | a—A

Are there any renderings of how the Crangles part of the building is going to be integrated into 550 wellington? The framework is there, but I don't quite get why the glazing goes so far down that it goes behind that framework... doesn't that mean there will be an odd gap between the structures?

Did you get any nice shots of the Tip Top Lofts while you were up there?

    Mortgage-free in 5 years?

Did anyone else read this article in the Star about the guy that paid off his $180,000 mortgage in 5 years? http://www.thestar.com/article/530653 It seemed interesting at first... but didn't really say much about how he did it except that his salary increased and he minimized his monthly...

I'm a fan of this idea too. A pedestrian bridge there would be great!

    Toronto June Callwood Park | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto | gh3

The Balmori entry has a great little detail I almost overlooked because it wasn't directly mentioned, but luckily there was a small rendering -- Gardiner chandeliers! What a great idea, to take the Gardiner expressway, often considered an eyesore, and make it artistic. I was just thinking...

    Toronto LTD Condos | ?m | 15s | Malibu Investments | RAW Design

Wow, that's a great image that shows what the neighbourhood will become! Mind if I ask where you got it from? Are plans like this available for other areas?

    Toronto MYC Merton Yonge Condominiums | ?m | 24s | Cresford | a—A

The floorplans on the whole seem to be quite good. It seems more and more rare to find well designed layouts these days. I think Charlie also had some decent floorplans as well.

    Toronto West Harbour City | ?m | 36s | Plaza | BDP Quadrangle

Just wondering, is there a reason why the building is terraced to the north, rather than to the south? Wouldn't it be nicer to have terraces that face the lake, rather than the Gardiner?

Church conversion at College & Palmerston (Kosoy/Brennan)

Thanks for the follow-up. It's too bad the general public never got a chance at this building... I imagine it will be quite nice, and is in an excellent location. Any news on who the developer is, etc.?

Church conversion at College & Palmerston (Kosoy/Brennan)

Has anyone heard anything about the church at College and Palmerston turning into condos? I've heard people talking about this, but a search on the 'net only comes up with this: http://www.movesmartly.com/2008/01/john-in-condos.html I love the neighbourhood, so if anyone knows if this is...

Buying a Parking Spot with Condo a necessity?

Yeah, in pre-construction situations they do usually reserve the parking spots for larger units. "Observer Walt" got what I meant though -- ie. let's say another owner in the condo was selling their parking spot, or perhaps the developer had extra spots and opened it up purchasing to owners...

Buying a Parking Spot with Condo a necessity?

I'm still a bit on the fence with this one... I would think that for a larger unit, then it definitely makes sense to get a parking spot. But what about if the unit is just a 1BR, and quite small? Eg. 600 sqft, 1 Bedroom condo x $450/sqft = $270,000 Parking spot = $30,000 (average of...

Buying a Parking Spot with Condo a necessity?

Any thoughts on this? I did the exact same thing... although I am not really close to the TTC. Well, not to a subway at least. I'm close to a streetcar stop but we all know how reliable those are... ;) Anyway, I'm curious as to whether it is worthwhile to purchase a parking spot now, if...
