    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

Technically they shouldn't even use cardinal directions for QEW at this junction.

Not sure which picture you are referring to, but this is the sign that comes after the diagrammatic sign: https://goo.gl/maps/FW8yVZ7nY2HoQmvx5 Then this one at the actual split: https://goo.gl/maps/nxztgS137xeMHyBdA The BC example serves the same role as our regular exit sign, albeit with...

    Toronto Union Pearson Express | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | MMM Group Limited

If you are certain you'll make it in 40min, then yes. The advantage of the UPX method is you can stay however long you want at the airport.

For curbside pick up, the cell phone lot is the quickest way. If however you want to be away from your car and/or be in the airport for the wait and greet, then it's better to park at Weston GO and take the UPX. Similarly, if you are coming from the west, you can park at carpool lot at...

That may not be the best comparison. At least for that specific example, there is a second regular exit information sign after that diagrammatic one. That one shows two arrows with "Exit" printed below.

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

I wish they can run above surface and extend line 4 to Malvern. In that case, the line 2 /4 interchange can stay at Sheppard/McCowan. It's nice to have both lines converge at STC, but it doesn't have to be - if either line goes past Sheppard/McCowan.

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

I guess the idea is, if an LRV or tractor trailer is crossing in front at the intersection, one shouldn't proceed whether they have a red (most of the case) or a green light. They can install a light box on the near right side, but with our multi-lane roadways, it serves little purpose.

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

Finch East buses are eating into some of its intended Scarborough ridership. Why would anyone transfer to Sheppard when they can get a one bus ride to line 1 terminus (the terminus part will change when line 1 is extended).

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

Line 4 sort of replaced (or was to replace) the eastern portion of that light metro line.

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

You' would have to dig up that plan for me. I don't think it's a wide 25km network of grade separated metro covering various parts of Scarborough, at least that's the impression I got from afrasen's post. 🤔

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

I think that is pure hypothetical as there never was a plan to build 25km of light metro all over Scarborough while there is one for a subway on Sheppard since at least the 80s.

    Toronto Eglinton Line 5 Crosstown West Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

This intersection needs to be redone. The current design is of no benefit to anyone: pedestrian having to cross an hostile intersection, long backlog of vehicles going eastbound because the green phase just isn't long enough to clear it. It is probably safer for everyone if it's grade-separated:

Toronto Metropolitan University (Ryerson) Campus Public Realm

I am guessing it will be shortened to "MetU", especially to those who already use "UT" as the short form for University of Toronto (as opposed to U of T).

    GO Transit Electrification | Metrolinx

They can go with whatever height they want if they are doing with the half and half method as you've described.

    Richmond Hill Yonge Line 1 North Subway Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

There's OL north and Sheppard extensions after those projects. After that we would finally have completed our wish list from decades/century ago.

2022 Transportation Master Plan (TMP) - York Region

I see a Bolton line, and perhaps a Seaton line.

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

They have the better design. Although they also have something we don't have for Eglinton - closely spaced parallel arterials. I see they are staying off of Grande Allée.

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

I think there's a reason there are double left turn lanes from Eglinton eastbound to Leslie.
