Here's a photo from a while ago (it isn't mine) Notice the front plaque has the logo in the MX dark green.

GO Transit Fleet Equipment and other

One of the F59s, 560, recently got it's front logo repainted into the Metrolinx scheme. Not saying that's an indication for anything but it is still something to note.

I will admit that the position of the sun made it hard to view from the west end, and I did not really look at the VIA side of the yard. From the pictures I took at the GO side of the yard I could not see it.

I went nearby Willowbrook to try to see if it was visible, did not see it so it’s very likely inside the shops getting the final preparations done in order to allow it to lead trains.

206 has now arrived at Willowbrook. Wonder how long it will take to get it into revenue service?

Not only that, but the contract for Series II cab cars to be refurbished at ONR was signed in August of 2019, and by January 2021 there was already photo evidence of these cars being painted in the MX cab car scheme. The contract for the Series VII cab cars was signed in December of 2021 so I...

GO Transit Fleet Equipment and other

I believe you are talking about the Series VII former cab cars, being numbers 242-250. I do not think there has ever been an official statement on what will happen to them, but all I’ve heard is that they will indeed be converted into coaches, and to be quite honest I do not know why. I just...

If it was supposed to be implement some time last year, then it must be right on time cause I haven't noticed or heard any of this being implement at all.

You know I have to wonder, why did the Niagara Train suddenly start using dual F59s? I understand the London Train needed it due to the St. Mary's Bridge, but is there any reason why the Niagara Train started using them?

GO Transit Fleet Equipment and other

Speaking of the staffing situation, I have been wondering what GO will do with 200-214 once they do indeed return to service. Correct me if I'm wrong but weren't their cab controls reactivated due to GO wanting to run more trains and needing more cab cars for it? If that's the case then how...

You know for someone who supposedly "works for GO", this sounds more like some 10 year old foamer who thinks that GO only serves to entertain railfans and is not an actual public service.

GO Transit Fleet Equipment and other

So apparently no more 6 car consists are being used? Wasn't MX goal with GO from now on to run shorter trains that are more frequent?

GO Transit Fleet Equipment and other

Yeah from a railfan perspective I prefer the Old Cab Cars design wise to the CEM ones, but that's just it, from a railfan perspective . The CEMs are obviously better for crews and safety, and I would not want to have a horrible accident that could potentially result in mass injury, or worse...

GO Transit Fleet Equipment and other

It probably would’ve been too difficult to remove the entire cab and strip all the controls and cab features away, I also believe they retained them incase there was some flaw that required the CEMs to be taken out of service, and allow them to temporarily be put back into leading service.

And that leads me to wonder, when will GO remove/replace those steps on all of the BiLevels that prevents them from using the at level platforms they were wanting to build?

GO Transit Fleet Equipment and other

Yes, cab cars 251 and 252 were converted into coaches, infact I believe they acted as accessibility coaches during this time. I’d guess the need for some extra cab cars due to service increases prompted GO unconvert them. Here is a picture of 251 taken during this time

Genuine question, is there a possibility that MX may get not get newly built locomotives? I mean if the first 8 locos are supposed to arrive by September 2024, that's less than 2 years for a company to build every locomotive. And considering how used locomotives that could be rebuilt are...
