    Toronto 307 Sherbourne Street | 49.55m | 15s | Forum Asset Mgmt | superkül

Agree. Riff raffs should be kicked out and nobody should shed a single drop of tear. gentrificationin most cases is a great thing. Nobody wants to invest and create jobs in a city where downtown looks like hopeless ghettos.

    Toronto 307 Sherbourne Street | 49.55m | 15s | Forum Asset Mgmt | superkül

I am happy to see those who regularly pee on the streets or the crazy ones who yell at strangers being pushed out and replaced by bankers, lawyers and teachers. Any day of the year. It happens in every city no matter what liberal ideologies you believe in, it is always a fact that the...

somehow I don't find it to be an "affordable" building. The price is not cheap by any stretch.

    Toronto Yonge & Rich Condominiums | 156.35m | 46s | Great Gulf | a—A

Truth is not everyone cares what others think how they "appear". It's just a name. I would happily live in Crapcondo if the building itself suits my needs. You think others care how they "appear” likely because YOU do. Keeping ridiculing the marketing name doesn't make one any more...

    Toronto Yonge & Rich Condominiums | 156.35m | 46s | Great Gulf | a—A

I would not care if it were called "money condo" or "millionaire loft". Why it is important for some is beyond me. Calling it Balzac or Renoir makes zero difference.

    Westin Harbour Castle (?, ?, ?)

That can be said about all buildings south of QQ between Yonge and Bathurst.

True although 90% of new construction in Toronto are at par with cityplace. It is pretty much our standard.

    Toronto Eaton Centre (Ongoing Renewal) | ?m | ?s | Cadillac Fairview | Zeidler

Except the CN tower, I don't think Toronto has any area that is exceedingly touristy. In fact I would say we don't have enough that really appears to tourists. I would want more. And there is nothing wrong with touristy areas. It is not a negative word. Id love to have pockets of the city...

It also seems all architects in Toronto can do in this kind of projects is adding some glass. More glass - all problem solved.

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

Agree. This "I already have a metropass so why not use it" mentality should be eliminated. There are really people who take the street car from Yonge to Church in non winter weather, or two stops on the 510 on Spadina (to avoid walking 400 meters).

    Toronto Union Pearson Express | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | MMM Group Limited

It always makes more sense for more than one passenger to take a cab. Most people don't go to Union or Bloor/Dundas.

    Toronto Ivy Condos | 102.41m | 32s | Dream | RAW Design

Yes its downtown. Every single street should be dense and vibrant. We don't need quiet little sleepy street here. They are all over the city already.

One can't cherry pick dates. My friend left for Mexico yesterday and said he was the only passenger in that car and wondered how the UPX can manage to survive.

If we get a park, let it be a nicely designed public space, not a simple patch of grass with some trees like what we see everywhere, please.

again we should stop putting TTC in the North America context. Only About 8 cities citizens have a decent system to star with.

    Toronto Pearson International Airport

True but you can travel between Madrid and Barcelona in 3 hours and Shanghai and Beijing in 4.5 hours by high speed train. Of course fewer people fly.

Funny nowadays RE ads don't even tell the size. Too embarrassing to say?

Does Toronto look to North America or elsewhere for inspiration for transit/infrastructure?

That says it all. If Toronto did look to Europe, it certainly didn't learn much but ends up functioning like a typical North American city. And I think we shouldn't look at US cities in terms of transit because that's a really low bar. Beating Atlanta or LA is nothing to be proud of. Boston and...

Things You Can Learn From Seoul's Subway

Yes, that's why I always think Toronto should aim to double its population. But on the other hand cities like Madrid and Munich don't have huge population it are also years ahead of us. Population is not the real reason I would say.
