I was told the crane is dug and they have started the large footing that encompasses the bulk of the site...

That is indeed correct. There has been a dewatering crew on site for a couple of weeks which means that the water table is higher than what was anticipated. That's why they arent on the site any more or at the pace they were going at. Once they get the ground water under control I am certain...

Not really cause its dependant on the weather. It also depends on the shoring contractor but from what I can see looks like they are getting close to having the entire site at the same elevation.

Your not comparing apples with apples. They have been digging at Hullmark since the winter of last year and Emerald Park finally had all permits in place at some time in July. I asked the foreman that was there and he mentioned that if you count the actual work days on the site, they are much...

Looks like they have lowered the west side now where the cranes were parked and shoring delayed. I suspect that in a week or so it will all be at the same elevation and the hole will look huge!

First sight of activity at X2 was around August 17th/2010 (LIONS Demolition) at around November 11th/2010 (Soil samples were being taken) at around February 18th/2011 (ANCHOR was on site officially pile driving/shoring) First sight of activity at Hullmark was around August 15th/2010 (Pro...

Its not always the developer that is the issue. The city and councillors can all throw wrenches into a plan. I am sure that the site will be moving soon and when they have rhythym you'll see the "humming" like across the road. The Hullmark Centre was a very long excavation as well with lots of...

Great Pics...they are flying on the digging. Lots of shoring work here which is why it looks like they come and go from the site in spurts...

Not necessarily. You can get access to some areas of the site and not others to get the ball rolling. You can tell there is no shoring on the west side ... there are no steel beams that stick up.

    Toronto Emerald Park Condos | 128.92m | 40s | Bazis | Rosario Varacalli

If you take a closer look they have not been working on the west side of the site which likely means that they are not able to. Typically in a site you take the whole area down to the same elevation as you dig. Looks like they are not doing that here cause the people drilling have not done any...

Likely because the shoring folks are slow (which they often are) and looking at how they are digging means the city may be holding things up on side of the site.
