Easiest way to expand West Harbour is to add a 3rd track on the north side of the station serving the other side of Platform 2 beside the CN mainline. I can't see why the station would need any more capacity than this for the forseeable future.

In the tender is says "provide a 5.0m raised centre median (if applicable) where there are no access impacts to existing side streets or residential properties".
Is that for bus lanes?
Edit: answered my own question. It is literally just a median.
I don't think that this is about intensifying, rather ensuring that construction doesn't interfere with LRT construction works in the near-term.
MTSAs will apply to the HLRT stops just like other transit projects.
I’m at least surprised they haven’t put one as a train lead to give it a good sweat test. Usually when one gets a new product you want to use it to work out any kinks that may exist. Others here have said the electronics are yet to be installed, but again surprised that one hasn’t been pressed...
Look at the Guelph Sub glowing up. Some double tracking, better stations, and improved speeds. Much better than the not so distant Genesee & Wyoming era.
My understanding is that the existing Guelph GO platform will be getting a similar treatment to the new one, but that’s a separate...
I would not trust mainstream media on infrastructure items unless they’re getting leaks from Metrolinx. They’ve consistently proven to either lack understanding of transit or just be sloppy at reporting it.
Next VIA set crossed into Canada today. Of note is that this delivery is just the Venture cars, no locomotive. VIA currently has an “extra” Charger locomotive with no matching trainset, so this “balances it out”.
