    Toronto id8 Downsview | ?m | ?s | Northcrest Developments | KPMB

I am pretty sure the immediate lands (the runway/hangars, the densest) area owned by CLC and Northcrest are slated to accommodate 83,000 people yet the lands surrounding the airport - will accommodate the remaining 27,000 which adds up to 110,000 in the wider downsview study area.

https://www.timeout.com/travel/coolest-neighbourhoods-in-the-world The Annex made it in TimeOut's coolest neighbourhoods in the world right now at #38. The Honest Ed's redevelopment was mentioned.

    Toronto Westside Mall Redevelopment | ?m | 60s | SmartCentres | Turner Fleischer

I definitely can't do anything but complain about it. I am with the opinion we shouldn't just have to accept it as stewards of our city, we should always strive for better and like @milycontent said, neighbouring developments show us what is possible. That said, any density is a win.

    Toronto Westside Mall Redevelopment | ?m | 60s | SmartCentres | Turner Fleischer

Again, I just still don't understand and accept in Toronto why we can have some developments like the beltline yards which are well-planned and thoughtful in terms of community benefits and architecture and some developments are homogenous and culture-less. Planning in Toronto seems to only...

    Toronto Mirvish Village (Honest Ed's Redevelopment) | 85.04m | 26s | Westbank | Henriquez Partners

Funny enough despite the colour of the buildings being a bit off in comparison to the red-brick area, I actually agree it feels like a cozy edition to the neighbourhood.

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

Due to the extremely dense Downsview airport redevelopment I wholeheartedly think an extension to Downsview (Sheppard West) would be needed.

Was just in London and saw this first hand, it was amazing. Glad to see a similar development in Toronto.

    Toronto Lower Don Lands Redevelopment | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

currently in Copenhagen, specifically around christianshavn area where there are a lot of pedestrian and cycle bridges over the canal that are very modern but less 'obtrusive' on top. I must say I hate the fanning-like support beams that go over bridges as depicted in some of the finalists. I...

    Vaughan Forum | 126.39m | 38s | Cortel Group | BDP Quadrangle

I have this same question. I also feel like growth will be much more significant in than Vaughan currently is forecasting.

Steve, is it possible to do a Vaughan Metropolitan centre model at some point? It's evolving quite a bit.

    Toronto East Harbour | 214.2m | 65s | Cadillac Fairview | Adamson

I don’t beleive we embrace the future as much as we could. New York seems to be embracing contemporary architecture in a much more bold way. I’m not sure why. Money definitely has something to do with it - a lot of billionaires behind these kinds of projects. Not everything can have a hefty...

    Toronto East Harbour | 214.2m | 65s | Cadillac Fairview | Adamson

Many people on this thread feel either way - they either think this factory is an eyesore or it isn't. I think Berlin does repurposing of 'ugly' plants and abandoned derelict buildings very well - turning them into art spaces and such. I personally liked the soap factory building because I...

    Toronto East Harbour | 214.2m | 65s | Cadillac Fairview | Adamson

I just moved there! Many people are moving there for that reason. Toronto is giving up on culture, historic and rustic architecture in favour of generic towers. Everybody on this forum knows that. East Harbour needs to embrace the contemporary, but in a Copenhagen way... not a copy paste...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Random insight - I'm glad to see this thread has been trending in the recent months. Shows the increase in interest for bike lanes and cycling infrastructure. I just bought my first bike in ages as I was inspired. We need to catch up to Montreal now ;)

I did see that the billy bishop site was included in the update downsview masterplan and was going to be dense. I may be mistaken but this is from what I remember when north crest was showing a diagram of the aimed densities in that area.
