    TTC: Streetcar Network

The 905 express route would be a perfect LRT line but it curious why the stops are a good distance apart when compared with the LRT plan for Eglinton-Malvern LRT, which has twice as many stops as necessary.

    Ottawa Transit Developments

Fair point. Then the dates should be set more realistically with enough buffer to compensate for most hiccups. Right now the media is not really reporting what are the issues or when a realistic date of the opening can be. By this far a stage in the project the confidence to project an opening...

GTHA Regional Transit Amalgamation Discussion: Superlinx/Subway Upload

This is an accounting distraction more than anything else. The province pretty much funded most of the other lines in Toronto. It basically already owns the City of Toronto, so why does it need to be a direct owner? The main reason is that they can extend the lines further out (more pork...

    Ottawa Transit Developments

It's very difficult to find competent builders of public transit in Canada. This line should have opened a year ago. It doesn't bode well for Toronto's LRT lines either. The Eglinton line for example, I predict will be at least 1 year late in opening.

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

The original plan for SRT to extend to Malvern was done by the TTC as Metrolinx did not exist then. It was Miller who wanted to reverse a mistake of using an orphan technology in Toronto. His plan was more social engineering to make the suburbs more attractive and more urban. It would have...

    Richmond Hill Yonge Line 1 North Subway Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

The RL should go all the way north to Steeles. Go up Don Mills from Pape until Finch, then veer east towards the massive employment area to the east of the 404. There is lots of open land there and huge employment buildings including IBM, TD, Tangerine and many others. That would provide a new...

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

Exactly. I see no reason why SSE needs to be buried for the entire 6km. Sure making Line 2 go north at Kennedy is tight but why can’t it go elevated for most of the route. It would have made for much cheaper project.

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

I doubt that there are new standards to have huge mezzanine. The Yonge station has an unnecessary centre platform for example. Leslie station has a bus terminal for a bus the comes every 30mins and delays passengers as it goes to the station. Bessarion should never have been built as it’s not...

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

I don’t think the length of our trains or platforms is a huge problem. The main cost driver is that fact we are building tunnels where they are not needed. The way I see it we have two cost drivers : tunnels and massive stations. TYSSE could have been on the surface or elevated with only small...

    Toronto SteelesTech Campus | ?m | 12s | NorthAmerican | Giannone Petricone

Interesting development. There is lots of empty employment land here. However the traffic here at rush hour is horrendous and transit in the area is spotty and slow at best. I’m surprised a new office park development is going up here.

    Low quality goods

No need to spend $700 on a shirt. There is quality and there is brand. A good shirt can be had for <$300. Anything more and you are paying for the logo/brand.

    Low quality goods

One gets what one pays for. Everyone is looking for cheap stuff. Cheap stuff costs you more in the long-term as you have to replace it more frequently. Case in point - I bought a fancy espresso maker - cost me $800 as it was bean to cup kind. I considered it to be an investment as I can make...

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

The SSE is going to get built no matter what. Too much political will has been placed there by all levels of government. However, I see many hurldes to.overcome before this like opens. The private option for additional stations may work at Sheppard and McCowan. I dont think it can happen for...

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Besides, we are talking about a very small area for the detour. It could be as simple as having traffic divert from Bathurst to Vesta drive, then Mayfair, then Eglinton and then back on Bathurst. Alternatively they can split the traffic so SB goes Bathurst, Wembley, Hilltop, Eglinton and back on...

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

I'm not saying they should be happy about it. The construction has its toll on businesses along the stretch as well as the residents who live on Bathurst and Eglinton Avenue as the traffic is backed up most of the day. If we can accelerate the construction all will be better off. It's short term...

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Mark my words - the acceleration will not happen. The wealthy home owners in this area are large to let Bathurst traffic onto their calm streets for 6 months. True there is no bus terminal here (none needed), the construction looks to be behind schedule. They are just starting to put the...

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Based on what I'm seeing at my local station - Forest Hill, opening in 2021 isnojnthe optimistkc side. The like will most like open in 2022. There are at least three more years of heavy construction remaining. That means that most construction will be wrapped up in 2021, but the TTC will surely...

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

The 2019 provincial budget will see if things proceed or if this project gets cancelled. I'm hoping cooler heads prevail in the Tory caucus and this project is allowed to continue.

    Mississauga Mississauga Transitway | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | IBI Group

Well with Ford in power now, the likelyhood of anything being built through Etobicoke is slim to none. He may want to bury everything which drives the costs up significantly and he wont be able to pay for all the subways subways subways.

Toronto Yonge Sheppard Centre Renovations and Expansion | 123.13m | 35s | RioCan | BDP Quadrangle

This is a huge improvement over what was there previously. Now if only Yonge St streetscape can be improved and extended and Doris south extension also needs to be built to help improve the traffic flow.
