    2175 Sheppard Ave E (?,?,?)

It should end at the Agincourt GO/RER station. There is not much demand beyond that. Victoria Park was the old terminal if it wasn't for the cutbacks by Mike Harris, which triggered the cut back to Don Mills.

2019 Ontario Liberal Leadership Race / Rebuild

The PCs have been a disappointment also but that was expected. It’s what happens when we get populists. The NDP hasn’t been an effective party ever. They are there to spoil the left ballot. They don’t have any real shot at power. I predict the liberals will come back to official opposition in...

    Hamilton Hamilton Line B LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Hamilton is NDP country, no good that it does them. Maybe next time they should vote to get their fearless leader Andrea to do her job and stand up for her home town. She's been AWOL lately and hasn't been heard in the media at all.

2019 Ontario Liberal Leadership Race / Rebuild

What an awful field of candidates that completely miss the boat on what needs to be done for Ontario. I can see Ford rolling on for another 6+ years.

    Hamilton Hamilton Line B LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Hamilton's rebirth is still-born, at least until the next government revives this plan.

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

Big question here: How likely is the TTC to order the additional 60 cars from Bombardier? 204 seems low if we want to improve service downtown.

    Richmond Hill Yonge Line 1 North Subway Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

I suspect that they will cut back the Royal Orchard stop. To be honest, they should also cancel the Langstaff stop as like they 407 stop a colossal waste of money. The RHC stop is close enough to the new proposed development. Trimming this to 4 stops (Cummer, Steele’s, Clark and RHC) would be...

    Richmond Hill Yonge Line 1 North Subway Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Viva wont be upgraded to LRT in our lifetimes. With 15-20 min service today on Orange and Purple, there is little ridership to justify it. It's more likely we get an LRT on Steeles than we upgrade the Highway 7 BRT.

Mental health support for post-secondary students

I firmly believe high school is a large part of the problem. Grades are not reflective of academic achievement but how much the teacher likes you or the pressure received from the parents. The school system is setup now where no one can fail - it helps boost the graduation rate. On the flip...

Mental health support for post-secondary students

While it's a complex issue, I fully agree with Admiral Beez here. We as a society have become accustomed to assigning blame to everyone except oneself. There is no longer introspection or soul-searching to see if the stress is caused internally (often it is). Maybe the program is not suited for...

    YRT/Viva Construction Thread (Rapidways, Terminals)

Beautiful new infrastructure. Who in their right mind would bike or walk on highway 7 where cars blast by at over 100km/hr and the posted limit is barely ever followed.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Just look at how long it's taking to build the Viva lanes in York Region. These are much simpler road expansions without any rail installations and it's taken them 3-4 years to complete each project once construction actually starts. I also agree that the Eglinton Crosstown will not be open for...

Toronto Manulife Centre Podium and Streetscape Renewal | 9.75m | 2s | Manulife Real Estate | MdeAS Architects

I compare this to the Yonge/Sheppard Centre renovation, and this is fugly. The YS Centre reno is great. They made the podium white and painted the ugly grey office towers black to make a nice contrast. This is just a mess. It would have been better if they didn't do the renovation at all or kept...

TTC: St. Clair Streetcar Right Of Way

Why does a route have to be crosstown to warrant LRT service? We don't need to make LRT service only on crosstown like routes. To me, it's a service quality and speed issue. St. Clair goes through mixed-income neighbourhoods and is the main street (commercial activity) and main thoroughfare in...

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

We are already now, no need to wait. The subway is already mostly unreliable the majority of the time but it's being hidden by happy stats by the brain trust of the TTC. Nothing much will change. The limits of our transit capacity is what is driving growth downtown but also in the suburbs near...

    Toronto 2444 Yonge Street | 114.27m | 31s | First Capital | Hariri Pontarini

The podium looks alright. Densification among Yonge is inevitable. I agree that the current three storey buildings are charming, but this stretch already has chain and big box stores - Sporting Life, Gap, Sports Chek, Best Buy.

TTC: St. Clair Streetcar Right Of Way

I drive and take the 512 on St. Clair. The ROW in my humble opinion was a great big missed opportunity by Millers administration. It could have demonstrated what a complete street looks like. St. Clair only needs one through lane with turning lanes. Bike lanes should have been added as part of...

North York City Centre (Yonge & Sheppard)

I’m not sure convenience stores are that profitable but I agree they are useful but SDMs are huge and have large fixed costs that I’d imagine require high product turn over to be profitable. I guess there must be enough demand and density in NYCC to support 4. The Yonge/Finch one is super...

North York City Centre (Yonge & Sheppard)

Yes it’s too many in one area. I wonder how they can be profitable. I have a Rexall and a Shoppers near my house and both are mostly empty stores that are not needed in the neighbourhood but they are there.
