It's nice to see appropriate density by transit eat into the bungalow belt a little more. Between these up-zonings and the major streets plan, some of these neighbourhoods are going to change pretty dramatically.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

This is great to see! Hopefully this is to support eventual 30-minute service.

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

It is more important in terms of riders, no? Buses along Kennedy can't really compete with the future frequent GO service.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

I checked from the train earlier this week and didn't see any progress. I wonder if this work is even still planned for this year?

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

From an employment perspective, Option 3 makes a lot of sense. Lots of warehouse-type employment is being added along Markham Road up to Steeles, so the Markham Road bus would be far more convenient. 2A would also be fine. Those working at STC would still be very well served without a direct...

I've had that happen a few times with the soap.

Answering my own question re: the trails, it looks like there's a plan for trails in Markham Centre that would link up to the existing trail network in the east: https://yourvoicemarkham.ca/markham-centre-trails-master-plan

Interesting proposal. Not directly related, but does anyone know anything about the new "future major trail" that's shown? I assume it's another extension of the Rouge Valley Trail? Another side note: I hope Metrolinx and Markham/York are planning ahead to a grade separation at Highway 7 for...

Weekend trains have been back for a while, aside from certain weekends with construction closures.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

I'll take a look from the train tomorrow! We've been waiting for this tiny span over Highland Creek to be completed for at least 5(?) years, so great news if this is finally finished!

I wonder if it was a city building inspector that told the province they messed up?

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Stouffville is already adding two more stops at Finch and East Harbour, so if stops at Scarborough and Danforth are also added, that's four more stops which would negate a lot of the acceleration/deceleration and frequency advantages of expansion and electrification in terms of trip times for...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

It's a strange claim to make if they are including evening Stouffville service that is being returned. I'm happy to have the service back and get that there's a lot of construction happening across the line, but positioning it as new service is a huge stretch.

    Toronto 137-141 Isabella Street | 231.55m | 69s | Pinedale | BDP Quadrangle

Keeping the Annex, Rosedale and Cabbagetown for heritage can be justified. It's almost everywhere else that's questionable (most of the east and west ends, most of the outer 416, etc.).

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Does anyone know what work was done on the Stouffville line during last weekend's closure? The track around the infamous Highland Creek seems to have moved a bit east and, if I'm not imagining things, some work may have progressed on getting ready for the new "culvert."

This is one transit project I'm optimistic about! Nice to see the hiring in action.

    New rides at Wonderland

I wonder if there's appetite for a new concert hall in a new hotel, etc.? With Sobeys Stadium about to do concerts this summer, and ticket prices seeing crazy growth, the demand might be there? The GTA -- and especially York Region -- is a very different place from when Kingswood closed in 1999...
