346m is much more ambitious and I love it. Also love to see someone finally take a stab at that 100s count. Would be a first for Canada!

If I may, that's generally what verticality does.

This is the wrong day, the date you are looking for is Oct 31st

If people take such issue with Dubai developers, then they should have the same issue any time a state owned Chinese firm comes in and builds stuff, just saying. Putting the Dubai issue aside, the fact that they're looking for such a partnership here clearly signals they're serious about this...

    This should be surprisingly fine.

    2022/24 Russian-Ukrainian War

These were unmanned sea vehicles, not flying drones like we often think of. Russia would not reveal if any ships sank, but the speculation is that based off of both video and the devices used to strike the ships, it's possible the damage was enough to sink some of them. Again, it's largely...

    2022/24 Russian-Ukrainian War

Rumour is potentially multiple ships sunk including the flagship replacement for the Moskva. Losing two "flagships" to a country with no Navy in a land war would certainly be embarrassing if true.

I really like the look of that world map wall ngl.

    2022/24 Russian-Ukrainian War

I agree a dirty bomb won't trigger intervention, but a nuke will and must. NATO won't respond with nukes or invade Russia but they will obliterate Russian forces within Ukraine. If Russia can use a nuke to no response, what stops India and Pakistan from nuking eachother. North Korea, Iran...

    2022/24 Russian-Ukrainian War

Russia doesn't care if the rest of the world knows its them and the radioactive fallout from such a weapon is not really substantial enough to cross NATO red lines I don't think. Ukraine might get better air defenses or longer missiles but I doubt they'd get direct intervention.

    2022/24 Russian-Ukrainian War

Russia is aggressively pushing the dirty bomb narrative. Gerasimov just held calls Mike Milley as well as the British military chief, reiterating the exact same claims. They're putting a full court press on this narrative unlike pervious narratives such as claims Ukraine was planning on using...

    2022/24 Russian-Ukrainian War

At this point, Russia using a dirty bomb is far more likely than nukes. They're clearly setting the conditions for such use, along with the destruction of the Nova Kakhova dam, to massively slow or stall the Ukrainian advances. That's not to say the nuclear threat doesnt still exist, but at...

I mean when it's 298m that just feels like teasing us. Anything under 290m I couldn't care less, that's just the height, and in fact sometimes even then it's too tall.

    2022/24 Russian-Ukrainian War

Find this highly unlikely. I haven't seen anything about recent strikes on Crimea and like you said, no one else picking this story up.

    News from across Asia

Hu Jintao dragged out of the closing ceremony of the party conference today. There's speculation as to why but I think it's pretty clearly a show of force, since Li Keqiang and Wang Yang were both snubbed of central committee positions. Essentially a complete neutering of Hu's faction and any...

This is a handsome tower. Also like the fact that it appears the house on this lot is being fully preserved and remaining as its own entity instead of being incorperated into the new structure.

Yea I'm with you here. The top floor rendering looks stunning but I honestly don't find anything special about this. Sure it's a little different but it still feels pretty uninspired to me in general. I guess I'm just tired of nothing but glass buildings regardless of the shape.

At the current pace, I'm thinking (or at least hoping) it will be a while. The longer this remains a hole the better. This is the most character the site will ever have.
