    Hike taxes more, Board urges

So what, we got the other half. We can also require them to heal the sick for 5 years as part of the immigrantion condition. In the end, we have a much bigger pool of doctors and the costs of medical care will drop significantly. No, I don't think so as long as the college of physicians...

    Hike taxes more, Board urges

I agree. However, as long as the unions (including the college of physicians) are protected by the government, we will forever face a bottomless money pit.

Rob Ford: Charity gives city clogged arteries

Oh, good. Why stop there? We should force people to do more thinking. Let's cut electricity to the entire city for a day. Water for another day. No garbage collection would surely raise awareness about waste management. Rotating outage of TTC would make people appreciate our drivers more. I mean...

    Hike taxes more, Board urges

Thank you. :) Although I would be happier if Revenue Canada has me on their ignore list and stop charging me taxes. :D

    Hike taxes more, Board urges

I tend to be in favour of LESS taxes and fees for all. Maybe us Canadian should stop trying to push more taxes on other, and start to think whether we need these taxes at all. Take health care, everybody is talking how it is in trouble, how we need more money. No, we don't need more money. All...

Suburban house split up into 18 bedrooms

To me, the only thing this guy did wrong was he didn't have all the safety features required (smoke detectors, better wiring and what not). If he addressed that, it really doesn't matter whether he is housing 18 people or 1000 people, as long as he could do it reasonably safely. Also, he charged...

Suburban house split up into 18 bedrooms

According to the report, not in scarborough. Also, it will not be profitable after all the taxes and overheads associated with red tapes.

    TDSB Ponders Black-Focused Schools

Wouldn't this school just defer whatever problems it is trying to fix to University?

Suburban house split up into 18 bedrooms

Unfortunately, I am not sure affordable housing is the right way to go. The government simply can not do that (or anything else) efficiently. Lowering taxes on apartment buildings and tolerating these 18 bedroom houses as long as they are safe would be a lot more cost effective. As for...

Suburban house split up into 18 bedrooms

The problem is that it's not about safety. Would the government back off if the house had the proper electric works and fire alarms? Somehow, I doubt it. I also don't see how would it be safer to house 18 people from the same family, which is not uncommon in certain culture.

Suburban house split up into 18 bedrooms

Where did the tenants go? Are they living on the street? Or simply moved to another rooming housing? The politicans can condemn this all they want. In the end, the root of the problem is that we do not have cheap housing in Toronto. Probably because high taxes and unnecessary regulations. Until...
