    Leaside and its Aerodrome

Rudy's right on, the clue for me was the three (what I suspect are) hydro lines crossing the picture. The first lines crossed just south of the science centre. So the ski slope would be between them and the rail bridge, basically just south of the end of Wicksteed, across from the archery range...

It's a whole lifetime for myself!

    Toronto skyline

Gerrard, east of Woodbine at Golfview. The church to the right was MCC and is now an African Methodist IIRC. The modern church further west (you can see the spire) is a bible baptist. Grew up in this neighbourhood too.

    Scarborough Photographs: Then and Now

Seems this practice is still going on on that street! As a former general contractor I can tell you it's no easy feat. I also knew some people from this neighbourhood back in the 70's. They were up on Gilder on the north side of Eglinton. IIRC the name was Fish.

Toronto Architecture From The 1960's and 70's

IIRC, It was an arena / community centre. In later years they had Bingo nights there, won 20 bucks one time!

All references to RCMP, or Mounted Police, etc. are highly copyrighted. They actually had Disney set up the "brand". From Wikipedia, "The Royal Canadian Mounted Police received an international license on April 1, 1995, requiring those who use the RCMP to pay a licensing fee. Proceeds from...

Bond Ave, North York, Railway Subway - date?

Either way makes sense. I just looked at a few different sources including the map you showed. ( I have a clearer version of it on my local computer) If you follow the rail lines on Google it appears that the bridge is a little further south than that dotted road. But again, either explanation...

Bond Ave, North York, Railway Subway - date?

I'm with Anna, I looked at a few maps and I believe that bridge would have crossed that creek.

Bathurst Street... can you believe it?

Let me see, the last time I drove that road, had to be 1992?? probably a bit before that. It was fun ride but it was nowhere like it is today, it was actually quite good for what it was. It comes out at Yonge and was a good route for me to get from downtown to Innisfil and avoid the 400. Have...

Miscellany Toronto Photographs: Then and Now

Include a memory stick with this thread and the pictures and the original story! How cool would it be a hundred years from now to read both stories.

Awesome photo eh, thanks for posting Goldie. It is also a bit disorientating looking at it "upside down"!

Miscellany Toronto Photographs: Then and Now

Sorry, my knowledge of my family's name and any ancestry associated with it is VERY limited! We (my father and myself) were an unknown off shoot of the one Elder family branch. At least until shortly after my fathers death in 1994. My father was born in 1938 to teenage parents, who quickly...

    Evocative Images of Lost Toronto

WAG is short for wild a** guess! I think the sign on the building on the right says something like "entrance is located 11? John St." I could be way off.
