I still say turn that unsold penthouse floor into a cocktail lounge/observatory a la the Manulife Centre.

I wish they would turn the penthouse into a cocktail lounge/observation level!

Years ago when it was built, I went to look at the model suites and remember one marble bathroom that had walls of windows around the sunken tub that looked out into the woods...it was glorious!

I think the cladding and the balconies look as busy and as unappealing as Aura's...why is everyone raving about this one?

I agree...it has very odd proportions. It reminds me of that awful condo near high park with the base that looks like a mausoleum. However, the upper floors will have a pretty terrific view

Make that, tearing half of it down...when I passed by at 7pm, the rear half and sides were still standing.

Interesting comment regarding the white blind effect. What would be your preferable alternative? Use whatever colour you want? How about tin foil? Go look at the Crossways to see how attractive that is!

The Book Cellar was one of the best bookstores that we had in this city. It looked onto the restaurant patio in the courtyard. The charm of Vidal Sassoon, which also overlooks the courtyard, was it's location in a multi-level narrow townhouse. It will be a shame to see this corner go.

Sure it does, or else you wouldn't bother replying. I agree that the word 'iconic' is incredibly overused on this board.

Those (slim) lower balconies on the west side are going to have a crappy view. How tall is that Women's College expansion going to be?

It looks to me like they got the idea for those set-in windows from Shangri-La.
