Premier Doug Ford's Ontario

"Without too much commentary"? C'mon. The Soviet imagery, "Ellen Degenderless"? Right.
That's a hell of a lot less commentary than the videos I chose not to post.

If you see this video as either factual or newsworthy or anything more than biased tripe, there's zero hope for you.
You are missing the point. It's not factual of newsworthy, nor is it pretending to be that. Its a compilation of memeworthy clips from the 2026 NDP convention. Don't attack the guy who made the compilation (he's one of thousands who posted these). Defend the clips, why don't you?

I'm pretty sure that's how they are and have always been perceived by ignorant conservatives who don't know the difference between communism and social democracy.
I did not perceive Jack Layton's NDP as anything other than a social democratic party. I can't say the same about the NDP of today. And I'm not the only one that shares this sentiment.

And? Why should MAGA's opinion matter to anyone in Canada?

Those nut jobs can keep their dysfunctional rage BS on that side of the border.

I will always attack rage-baiting grifters. Trying to make money off being divisive (while constantly claiming others are the divisive ones) has become one of the worst, slimiest byproducts of the internet.

What people wanted to call themselves at a convention shouldn't effing matter to you. You're not a party member, you weren't there, and you only bring it up in order to make light of a manufactured issue.

Ironically, in my own experience, conservatives seem to be the ones who seem obsessed with pronouns. Recent case in point, my wife is an HR Director, and had two separate truck drivers at her company complain that their (correct) pronouns were listed on their online paycheque/scheduling profiles. Pronouns are only visible to them, and only within their app profile, and only used for the sake of mailings and governmental usage. You literally have to hunt for them to find them.

Both of these guys are known for their borderline commentary at work, touting Poilievre's latest d!ck move, and constantly complaining DEI and every other conservative grievance of the day. They are the epitome of conservative stereotypes.

They *demanded* that the pronouns get taken off their profiles. Again, these pronouns aren't visible to anyone but HR and them and were correct. Not only that, they're fully editable by the employee. But they still demanded HR do it, and made so much of a stink about it around the company. In turn, pronoun fields were emptied within the software.

The funny thing is, they will eventually find out that when pronoun fields are empty within the software, it defaults to "they/them". Correspondence with the government will list them as "they/them."

It's an example of how much people will cut off their own limbs to "own the libs". Gawd forbid people like this dare to learn a latin language, Japanese or another where pronouns are either all over the place, or where gendered pronouns are nearly non-existent.

As for defending the clips; they don't need it. What someone wants to be called should be entirely dependent on them and is none of your effing business. And if an established order of operations for questions has been defined, I'm gonna say "good for them" for holding people to account when it's violated. I give people shit when they jump in line for a queue I'm in too, because I'm not a passive guy who lets people walk all over him.

Exactly what NDP policies have changed since Layton was in power?

^excellent whataboutist critique of the far right. Has nothing to do with the topic at hand.

For some reason "look in the mirror" comes to mind. I don't know why.

I don't recall Jack Layton demanding that the federal government provide billions of dollars of funding to fight the "ongoing genocide" of LGBTQ+ community in Canada (or MMIWG2SLGBTQQIA+ as NDP now refers to it)

But hey, good for NDP. They really care about the real issues facing real Canadians. The Canadian genocide of LGBTQ+ community is really getting out of hand.

You literally implied the entirety of Canada is concerned with pronouns. Most people don't care. The question is, why DO YOU?

Please, enough with the BS. Put up examples.

I'm not sure if you can see the nuances here, but Leah Gazan is not the leader of the party. Nor is MMIWG2SLGBTQQIA+ as an acronym listed anywhere on the party's site. But I guess when you're afraid of a few letters, something like this might be too much to deal with.

Maybe we should say every party represents every last word a single member says, huh?

But hey, good for NDP. They really care about the real issues facing real Canadians.

Funny thing stuff like this is on the party site then, huh?

And they never bring up education or healthcare or affordability. How silly of them?!

Are you blind?

The Canadian genocide of LGBTQ+ community is really getting out of hand.
You know what the MMIWG part of that whole thing is, right?

I really don't care about what pronouns people chose to go by (I respect that choice whatever it happens to be). But NDP certainly does care. It seems it's the only thing they care about, really.

Never miss an opportunity to virtue-signal with their pronouns, I guess...🤷‍♂️

Anyway, this is a discussion to nowhere and we're getting there fast. I'm out.

Find me the page on their website to support that claim. I dare you. Otherwise, you're just trolling again.

The Carney thread is full of whataboutisms that miss the crux of the argument or bigger picture. I'm being told that things were either generally better under Trudeau than his predecessors, or that it would've been better had it not been for oil prices and covid.

A lot of left-wing infighting initiated by the vocal ideologues. As if painting the fed or provincial Liberal or NDP in a bad light and wishing for a return to the Layton ways is 'very conservative'. That and fear mongering of imminent dystopia, that PP was going to send the army to the cities like Trump and/or genocide the minorities.

Some people here need to lay off American mainstream and social media. All it does is ragebait you. It's not black and white, us vs. them. Ford vs. Liberal&NDP.

I'll say again, Canada has never been more socially progressive as it is today. Being careful to avoid backsliding like the US is not the same as shouting down anyone who disagrees with you and accusing them of being 'very conservative' for pointing out that the NDP has moved away from working class issues, or that wealth tends to accumulate in the homeowner class throughout the world.
