Ontario Northland/Northern Ontario Transportation

A few developments in Algoma Central territory...

Well, from Google, that looks like a pretty scuzzy location; just a dirt parking lot and the yard office on the edge of a freight yard. Nothing screams attracting tourist dollars like like a muddy parking lot on a rainy day. I suspect they didn't like paying rent.

Excuse you, that's the Canal District, the premier nightlife and cultural destination in greater Sault Ste Marie, "where culinary delights meet casual comfort and sophistication"!

I am kinda curious how that was kept so quiet. In this day and age of things leaking like a sieve, it is amazing that nowhere on the internet was that sale even hinted at. It sounds like it may have been in some more secretive plan that showed "the real costs" of getting the line up and running again. It does make me wonder if the thing that I think of are actually working their way through the various management boards with no public notice till they see it as a done deal.

Thank you for letting me take a peak into the window.
Curious, wouldn't the northern line to London be more heavily populated? Wouldn't Kitchener, Cambridge and London be more people?
I guess CN's price was too high? Vs the Newmarket sub?

Historical note : The present station is actually the third. The first two still stand, but the shifts did enable development of the waterfront. I do question the statement that the new location is more convenient for tourists.... it's certainly more convenient for the railway, but further from downtown etc..
It remains to be seen whether parking and bus access will be improved.
I wonder what Watco's track record with real estate projects has been.

Or that the province isn't ready to do it yet.We do not know, and those that do may not be able to say.

…. The immediate question being, what is the total per seat cost of operation, and how much is the per seat subsidy at those fares.
