305 Bremner Blvd | ?m | ?s | Government of Ontario

In fairness, I don't believe we know what the plan is yet?
That's true we dont....

But if we read between the lines, it's quite apparent. The provincial government is spending like drunken sailors, cant balance the budget, and are reducing income sources. Thus are looking for ways to make a quick buck to pay for things, thus are looking to sell off assets to the highest bidder (which is in most cases ~90% of the time are real estate developers).

I'd love to be proven wrong, but this is the exact motive behind the province looking at selling this land (sorry I mean "reviewing what can be done with the property"). They can deny it until the cows come home, but many of us here are 10 steps ahead of their "logic".

You may be correct, but I hope not.

As far as uses for this site, they are endless. Pencil in a hotel, a lot of event space, many restos/bars and a LEGOLAND!

Doug Ford and this provincial government is the most corrupt and crooked government in the history of Canadian politics.

There is no way in hell that this government should be allowed to do this. Doug Ford is hellbent on destroying Toronto, and honestly enough is enough with this sycophant. There needs to be a mechanism in place that stops this idiocy because it's really gotten completely out of control.

Clearly this government doesnt have the city's best interest at heart, and they couldnt care less about the interest of it's residents so the obvious move is that they want to sell it to a developer to build some kind of mega tower.
Just want to point out that Infrastructure Ontario has been actively investigating developing this site for some 20-odd years.

If it actually proceeds under Doug's government, that is indeed an indictment on his government, but plans for this site did not originate with him.

In my opinion, just convert the lands to a low-rise commercial use like at Stackt Market, turn it into a touristy attraction, and call it a day.

Most likely scenario is rogers buys the land unless they want to something much bigger such as as the Atlanta Braves have done with the Truist Park which has made $90 million in extra revenue for the Braves ownership

I mean for an area as high value as the land around the rogers center. that parking lot is very undervalued. im imagining some kind of commercial area. Granted the rogers center is underused in the winter but still would be very popular like the rec room and st louis on west side

Yep, I'm betting on the Rogers purchase. I think we could see something like a Stateside Live! in Philadelphia, a dining and bar complex next to their sports venues. Rogers probably ran the numbers for how many fans go to Steamwhistle Brewery for pre-game drinks and realize they're bleeding money that should be theirs.
