I met Boozary at a bunch of events. Smart and friendly but deeply socially awkward. He would not do well in politics.

Okay, now all I can hear in my head is Premier Ear Skin.

And not long before the hypothetical conservative crowd begins to refer to him as "Premier Foreskin" in this hypothetical timeline.

The man needs to settle on one (1) last name!

Honestly, this matters. Can I see a Premier Erskine-Smith? I can certainly imagine a Premier Nate Smith or a Premier Erskine. Every little detail matters when trying to win the support of such a wide tapestry of personalities and nitpickiness in the broader electorate.

Agree, it's cumbersome. My own son has a hyphenated last name, and it bugs the hell out of me...

And there you have it, Nate Erskin-Smith confirming my point about how a name is important in politics, particularly when seeking a top job.

He’s going by NATE and just Nate. Not an Erskin, a Smith or a hyphen anywhere to be seen.
