Toronto Eglinton Line 5 + GO: Kennedy Station | ?m | 1s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Apparently this has something to do with the Scarborough Subway Extension? Very clueless in regards to what this building is.
It's part of the ventilation system for the new tunnel section to basicly in case of a fire to help remove smoke from the tunnel. They have been adding them to the existing parts of the tunnels as much as posable but most of line 1 and line 2 still rely on air from the open ends with some small ventilation fans in a few places.

Complete and open.

One thing I noticed when exploring Kennedy station today is that it doesn't seem like the access to the Barrie line west platform from the Line 5 tunnel is roughed in at all. I know they couldn't build it until the old Line 3 infrastructure is removed but the hallway has no indication at all that it is coming.

In a report to the TTC 8 years ago, there is a future connection to the Stouffville Line Western Platform.

That's this. It connects to the Kennedy platform of the Stouville line in eerie, liminal, beauty:

Anyone else think that there's crappy wayfinding in the main entry?
You shouldn't have to turn your head 360 degrees to figure out which way to go.
... and the turnstile sign omits GO.

Should be more like this:

It's also ridiculous that the only way to cut through to the GO platforms is through the TTC fare gates.
You don't have to do that if you enter through the new building on the go train platform or the other one by the passenger drop off at Kennedy there is a hallway that bypasses the fare gates to go to and from the go train without paying a TTC fair.

In Vancouver, for TransLink's Compass card, if you tap in and tap out at the same station within 21 minutes, the fare is reversed - so you can walk into or through a station and out without paying a fare.

In Toronto you don't have to tap off for the TTC only tap on. That's why they have a separate hallway for people who are just walking through and not going onto either line 5 or line 2 or taking a bus from there.

The fare gates omit go transit because you don't need to go through them to get to the Go train from the station, so you don't need to use them for that.
