The Toronto Public Library’s (TPL) Junction Triangle branch is turning away visitors due to a flood on the property.
In a statement to
TorontoToday, a spokesperson for the library said the flood was caused by “an HVAC system failure.”
None of the library’s collections have been damaged by the flood, TPL said.
The library is expected to be closed for at least two weeks while repairs to the HVAC system are completed.
“Our priority is recovery, cleanup and drying of the affected areas,” the TPL statement reads.
The 10,000 square-foot Junction Triangle branch
opened in August 2025 at 305 Campbell Ave., near Lansdowne Avenue. The location replaced a branch that was located just west on Dupont Street, which served the community for several decades but was more than three times smaller.
The library said it will post
online updates about the branch’s reopening as they become available, including alternative library branches where customers can pick up their books on hold.
