No visible activity at King Toronto today, but yesterday was another good day for the cladding crew. Both tower cranes were active during the day. A number of additional Level 5 cladding and glazing sections were installed along the south facade. The amount of work done in just two days, Tuesday and Wednesday, this week is impressive, looks like the best rate for installation of cladding sections so far.

First photo - both cranes active, second and third photos from mid-afternoon, and then third and fourth photos with the status as of the end of day A final bonus photo, taken in sunnier times last week.

One final comment - in contrast to all the other visible from our place construction sites, the crane just one block down the road from King Toronto, at the Ontario Line Bathurst station, was working today, with concrete trucks on the road making deliveries to the new subway station site.

Not sure if this has been posted before, but some nice views inside the project (including Elton's penthouse floor ;-).

They've really leaned on the greenery in these late renderings — even the crystal balls have been retained. Also, Elton John must be thrilled that they're marketing this building off him and walking around his home, opening his fridge before he's gotten a chance to move in.

It’s just an empty concrete structure of the unit. The kitchen and appliances shown in the video are not used on any of the penthouse units, it’s the stainless steel and fluted glass cabinet upgrade package for the non-penthouse units. Each penthouse unit will have its own specific design theme and custom finishes, such as bronze or travertine faced kitchen cabinets, and I’m pretty sure Elton will have some customizations of his own from the original design of his penthouse.
The suspended polished chrome spheres shown in the renderings (or “crystal balls” as referred in the video) has not been confirmed and is so far used as a placeholder, as an artist will be chosen to design the public art installation in the courtyard space. This was mentioned in the early marketing material and by Ian Gillespie in a couple of his talks.
That video was made by a real estate agent, not by someone from the development or construction team, so take it with a grain of salt.

With cladding activities having resumed on January 13, much progress has been made. Over the seven work days since then (no activity on Thursday, January 15th due to the storm), the Level 5 cladding has been completed over the entire south facade, as well as the short east facade segment. Photos taken earlier this afternoon:

A couple of other notes - first a delivery of cladding / glazing sections in the late morning yesterday, and the second photo - the start of the removal of the sidewalk hoarding on King Street at the east end of the King Toronto site - this section showing where the Flynns of Temple Bar used to be.

So - now on to the Level 6 cladding. Should hopefully go more quickly than Level 5, which involved installation of a number of previously omitted sections in the lower levels within the courtyard, as well as being interrupted by the Christmas break from December 23 through January 12.

I almost shed a tear. Fynn's used to be a regular hangout that's been behind this hoarding for what feels like an eternity now. Photo from the Before Times:

@AHK are they just removing that hoarding or does it look like more of it will come down? The activity is now set back from the sidewalk so maybe a gate into the site is sufficient.
