Beautiful shot!

Seeing this reminded me of hearing about 401/Yonge reworking but I don’t think the former associate minister of transportation Stan Cho, ever followed up on this newsletter. January 26 2025

Yonge-401 Environmental Assessment and Fix is coming,... it's a joint City of Toronto and MTO project. The problem is Mayor Olivia Chow and her Transportation Services division has been stalling for years,... and the local Cllr Lily Cheng simply has no idea what she's doing! She's focused on her Event Planning gig and popcorn give away!

Oh, and since my post last month complaining that the local Cllr Lily Cheng's office,.. had already lost 4 of her 8 permanent office staff since the beginning of the year,... well, since then they lost another 1 (Communications & Community Engagement Specialist,... err, IE "Spin Doctor"),... that makes 5 of 8 office staff gone since the start of the year,... and the year isn't over yet!!! Then add all the office staff her office lost in the previous years - and people wonder why Cllr Lily Cheng can't get anything done? Nobody in her office know what they're doing - they're basically all newbies!

Link below shows, last year,... Local Cllr Lily Cheng thought Yonge-401 fix is "contingent on completion of"/after TransformYonge - which is contingent on both Doris South Extension and Beecroft North Extension being completed (as per a condition placed by previous Cllr John Filion in 2020 when TransformYonge was approved)

Yonge-401 fix has nothing to do with TransformYonge!

With no thanks to Cllr Lily and Mayor Olivia Chow,.... Yonge-401 Environmental Assessment is now moving ahead thanks to MPP Stan Cho - you'll hear more about it in the Spring.

Hmmm,... close off Yonge St sidewalk,... gee, what can happen?

At one block south - at EmeraldPark, some retail space been closed for a while,... but the Presto Tea, Jerk King and NYX Vape place recently closed - along with recently renovated Hero Burger another block south,... restaurants already find it tough to survive,... so let's close off nearby sidewalk to cut pedestrian foot traffic!

It's a really stupid outcome of being car obsessed as a society. People lose their safety and ability to access local shops. Local businesses lose money. It's all done to avoid inconveniencing people sitting in comfy seats, listening to the radio, and having a machine do most of the work involved in their transportation.
Those are the kings and queens of the roads, whose every whims must be catered to.
