The very large plastic awning covering the outdoor patio of the Fieldhouse just collapsed, presumably from the weight of the snow on top. It ripped off part of the side of the building.

Interesting nothing has happened here yet. It's been more than two years since the receivership.
The outdoor space has become a sort of urban wildlife refuge. There's plenty of very loud raccoon brawls happening at night in the overgrown bushes. I think there's even a feral cat colony in there now and occasionally some homeless are in there.

Wanted to pop in with an update that absolutely nothing has appeared to happen with this property in the past few months.
It's still sitting there abandoned, looking now again like exactly the photo I posted a year ago.
There has been no human foot prints in the snow, though plenty of animal tracks, and nothing from the outdoor section has moved. Even that one table by the doors is still there in the same spot it was in July 2023.

Hyde Park Homes have picked up the church property - they've partnered with Lamb for a couple of projects (East 55) and Sher Group on Garden District Condos.

Interesting notes here that they want to renovate and reopen in "fall 2026".
That's a pretty ambitious timeline to renovate a property that's been left derelict for three years, unless renovate means little more than replace some burned out lightbulbs and pick up the trash accumulated on-site.
