I am waiting to see how well the Farmers fit into their new space. As you might imagine, they were very unwilling to be moved from the old North Market but are now, I am told, not too keen on moving back! Change is a problem for some folk.
Same. I was there on Saturday at 5:30am, thinking about how it used to be in the old North Market. But also thinking, man- it could feel kinda stark and empty in such a large space. Only time will tell, and we’re just 6 lightning quick years away from moving in!

If this were Australia, we’d have built this with next to zero value engineering. What is the magic in Australian capital procurement and how can Canada replicate it? Would be a good investigation @AlexBozikovic

I’m doing some work on procurement these days. Stay tuned…

Those metal guards at the bottom of every column look quite gross.
They'll no doubt look better after people shove garbage into them, which they will.

And this sort of metal cladding always look so terrible. It's just like Time & Space condos. There are always weird gaps and joins that don't align, it drives me insane (not that I could do better, but then again, for $100 million...)

I remember parking in that parking lot at the SW corner of Front and Jarvis with my dad to visit the market. It could have been as late as the early 1980s...
The parking lot on NORTH side of Front is site of Market Square - which was completed in about 1984. The one on south side of Front, site of 109 Front St was built in about 1998.

Me too! ; later we shifted to parking at the Loblaws at Jarvis/Lakeshore and walking up.
