ooh this might be that 3rd party peer reviewed study IO said they were going to do. Im very curious if it actually exonerates the ford government

If its as bad as they say it is, take the full hour-long oral report you say you were given and show it to the people, LOL such easy PR blunders

Nothing in the other report that suggests the structure is irreparable - even less that it is cost-ineffective to do so. And guess what - no active building system last half a century without replacement and repairs - geez, you don't buy a new building just because you aren't paying for HVAC replacement or upgrades that you and previous governments should have done.

Trotting out "but think about the kids" as an argument for closure is especially ironic considering the state of schools in the city and the lack of interest on the part of the province to fix it. Premier - you not only chance it - you chose to chance it. All. the. time.

In the meantime, we know absolutely nothing about the actual proposed replacement - no real building plans, no list of exhibits, nothing. The fact that they are even tendering an interim site suggests to me the real replacement won't happen for a long time - and probably trying to use elapsed time and faded memories to set the public up for diminished expectations.

Perhaps we should put a casino, pot shop and bar in there - it would probably solicit more interest from this government. Proposed hands-on learning exhibits/retail outlets:

Munchies
Everyday probability through gambling.

I think you forgot the Ferris Wheel.

The original Ferris Wheel was designed and constructed by George Washington Gale Ferris Jr. as a landmark for the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago; although much smaller wooden wheels of similar idea predate Ferris's wheel, dating perhaps to the 1500s. The generic term "Ferris wheel", now used in American English for all such structures, has become the most common type of amusement ride at state fairs in the United States.[1]

re: Land ownership - I vaguely recall a portion of the OSC lands was transferred to the province as part of a deal to fill the Toronto budget hole - it may have been during the Mel or Miller era. Does anyone recall?

Whatever the severity of the issues at hand, Doug Ford's "you'll fall off your chair" rhetoric re what ails the OSC is nothing more than carny talk. It's like a computer guy saying "you'll fall off your chair" re whatever viruses might be floating within your computer, regardless of the fact that *anyone* who isn't a computer guy and doesn't do computer-guy stuff with a computer every, say, month or so would have said stuff floating within and not obviously harmful unless "provoked". Or "you'll fall off your chair" when you find out what your ballpark hot dogs are made of. Or (in a way that his influencer daughters would identify with) "you'll fall off your chair" once you see all that gunk that a Biore deep cleansing pore strip removes from your nose and your face...
