West Harbour construction pretty quiet today (April 22):

Lakeshore West grade separation at Burloak is moving at a good pace. They have the (temporary?) track bed laid on the east side. Feels like the trains run quite slow through this section, but maybe they always have and I've never paid attention? Sorry, no photos.

You captured the anger I think we all feel so well. The original Eaton Centre was classic 80s/90s hubris, and every attempt to 'fix' it has been so half-assed and bound to fail. I'd prefer they demolish it all, rebuild the street grid as much as possible, and develop individual parcels instead...

Good questions! This was all new to me, but I am not on a deadline so that helps...I can learn as I go. - I needed a variance for the setbacks. I went to Committee of Adjustment and although staff recommended approval to some and denial to other variances, the committee overwhelmingly approved...

Demolition is starting. They've installed sidewalk protection on both Barton and James in the last day (nice to see for once!) and there are lots of people on site from the demo company today.

Guess I should post my own project. I'm building a laneway house in my backyard here in Hamilton. I demolished an existing garage (not in good enough shape for conversion) and I'm building a 1.5 storey house. Same footprint, a bit taller. I have a private laneway off to an adjacent street on one...
