It's funny because they had already cleaned the windows a few weeks back. I guess it's still a construction zone and getting dusty. There were a few scissor lifts parked in there changing lightbulbs last week. Maybe they're using them to clean the windows too.
The escalators are finished...
I understand my privilege as a white male but studies show community policing is viewed positively across demographics. The same few teams of cops patrolling a neighbourhood get to build relationships with the people who live and work there, creating a sense of safety and being able to address...
One of the entry points with removable bollards. Very clunky.
At least this project is nearly done. The other side is close behind. The construction trailer was also seen packing up.
Blast from the past:
It certainly has come a long way in retrospect. They boiled that frog real slowly. Give it another 20 years and we'll be ready to host a World Cup.
I'm fine with this but I'd also like to see police enforce traffic laws. I feel less safe simply crossing the street downtown than I do riding the subway. Growing up, I remember seeing police everywhere, back when they walked around in their blue short sleeve shirts before the militarization of...
It did for a brief period in the 90s. Then they replaced it with the electronic board that’s (out of order) there today.
I’d love a split flap board in the Great Hall along with pew style seating.
Waiting for a train in the Great Hall with a proper public announcement system and the sound of...
I followed up. The ticket says: “resolved, covered with hot asphalt.”
Not only was their intended resolution lazy and ugly, they lied: no asphalt was applied. The corner remains a tripping hazard.
Maybe I’m starting to agree with Rob Ford on “taxpayer waste”. The city bureaucracy itself is...
I filed a 311 request exactly because of that. There’s a papertrail that they’re aware of it. The ticket got “resolved” within 48 hours. What’s that supposed to mean? They clearly didn’t fix it, did they just send a guy to look at it and say: “yeah, it’s bad” and then start a bureaucratic...
Got some daytime shots.
I guess if the lobby were finished, they could gate around the unfinished sidewalk and people would walk through the finished square.
But I had a look inside and the ceilings are still all cut up. Whatever the new deadline is on this, they’re shooting way past the...
I had a closer look at the original help desk and clock and I have amazing news! First of all, look at this beauty! This desk was managed by the Travellers' Aid Society of Toronto.
For a while, I thought the clock outside on Front was the original Great Hall clock but they're different...
