    Ontario Northland/Northern Ontario Transportation

No, I think it's grotesque to charge the taxpayer $1000 per passenger ($500 per direction) to subsidize the tourist camp industry. The exact number of whistle stops is irrelevant to that conclusion.

If there were an airport serving a single holiday camp and literally nobody else, they 100% should shut it down.

The government should not be in the business of subsidizing the transportation requirements of individual tourist camps.

    Parliament Streetcar

It also means rebuilding every existing streetcar loop. I take your point that this might allow for loop infrastructure to be placed in more convenient locations and more cheaply constructed in future, but I still think you're setting up one awful chicken-and-egg problem here, and inevitably the...

    Parliament Streetcar

"Just" buying or retrofitting a second type of streetcar implies a significant maintenance and administrative load. This would be difficult to justify for the sake of a single route.

Personally, I'd argue it's easier to ignore transit advertising today than it was a century ago.

I can't wait until New Tenant opens! I love their service or product! It always make me feel positive emotion, and reminds me of relatable pleasant memory!

Highway 407 is a major inter-agency bus exchange: GO, YRT and Northland all serve the station, and at peak times there are easily 30-40 buses through the station per hour. This usage will probably increase as the University fork expands northward. As for Downsview Park, in addition to being a GO...

None of the public concourses or platforms at any of the subway stations are heated. This does not stop homeless people from hanging out there.

For most of the line, this will improve over the coming years without intervention. The subway system isn't heated, either: it just has a warmer baseline through decades of usage. (Radiant heat from people in the stations, train brakes generating heat, traction motors, escalators running, etc.)...

On the one hand, I think it's a wonderful idea to have a huge sign where people can't possibly ignore it. On the other hand, I keep seeing people stand right on top of it and wait for a train that won't even stop there.

This is fanfic my dude. He didn't "have the money". He cancelled a bunch of other projects and then asked the province to reallocate it to the project he wanted. The province said "no", in part because Ford had demonstrated that the city was an unreliable partner, and partially because other...

I might add: this all happened on the shoulders of a decades-long headache about what to do with the Scarborough Urban GO / Scarborough RT / Scarborough LRT / Line 3 Scarborough / Oh God The Scarborough Thing Can We Just Stop @%^$ing Arguing.
