    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

yea probably won't be repaired in anything resembling a timely matter, though a benefit of e-paper over the existing dot matrix displays is reliability and durability. They should not break as often as existing screens

Glad to see e-paper adopted at bus stops. Curious how much information will be displayed. Hopefully it includes some route or local maps like the example bellow

Alto - High Speed Rail (Toronto-Quebec City)

My family of 4 used to opt for the slow train on such trips. Not everyone will make the same choices you would.

    Eglinton East LRT | Metrolinx

is there any benefit other than not needing to use a bus? If the bus can already get you there faster than the LRT... than thats not a new connection. new rail connection sure, and there are some inherent benefits of rail over busses, but those benefits don't hold much weight with this project...

    Eglinton East LRT | Metrolinx

Kennedy, Waden, Vic park (kinda), scarborough, eglinton, guildwood, rouge hill, agincourt, miliken (kinda), six line 5 stops if you count them (which if you are counting this proposed line than you should count those), plus all thats under construction: lawrence east, Scarborough centre...

    Eglinton East LRT | Metrolinx

He never said TSP was a waste of money, but that Bad public transit projects which waste money are not what we should be building. How does this line provide any new connections to etobicoke or north york? busses already connect east Scarborough to points west, no slower than the lrt would. it...

    Eglinton East LRT | Metrolinx

I would love to see how many cars the city predicts this line will take off the road. My money is on zero.

    Very much agreed.

    Eglinton East LRT | Metrolinx

Eglinton has way more density than along Sheppard out there, plus two go stations are along that section so definitely from Kennedy first. A bus from Scarborough centre will still probably end up being the fastest way to UTSC either way.

    Eglinton East LRT | Metrolinx

It's certainly been discussed, but that just makes me more worried that it hasn't been discussed publicly. There was a conscious decision made not to publicly present it as one of the options under consideration. Could be many reasons, and I'm not sure i like any of them I imagine its the...

Don't know if its been mentioned but the architectual plans from october show a glass crown hiding the mechanical box. Doesn't grantee anything but gives me some hope floors add up as well...

    Eglinton East LRT | Metrolinx

this is the best drawing this is the best i know of, from: https://www.toronto.ca/legdocs/mmis/2022/ex/bgrd/backgroundfile-226596.pdf Same problem with the full LRT plan but at least terminating routes at Eglinton would provide a useful transfer downtown.

    Eglinton East LRT | Metrolinx

You'd think so, but no. Metrolinx claims the tunnel wont be able to bear the weight of an LRT portal above it and has refused to redesign it even though tunneling has not yet reached that location. That's the main reason the EELRT is currently being planned as its own separate line.
